And who are all of the unions bankrolling?
The middle class: those who pay into them.

The presidents of most unions make a small fortune, much like the heads of banks, etc (don't kid yourself). They are making their slightly smaller fortunes off of union dues (which as far as I'm concerned is way too much for anyone representing "common, working class people")! Here's an article written 3.5 years ago: http://theunionlabelblog.com/2008/04/23/corporate-heads-make-too-much-what-about-union-leaders/

...and republicans don't believe that rich people should pay taxes...while everyone else..."should pay taxes"...why is that? Wouldn't it be more truly logical to have an equal percentage tax...for everyone...based on their years total monetary income? That way...everyone could correctly feel and realize...that they are equally contributing...no matter how rich or poor...that they are

The greedy will never agree to that. They want us (the middle class) to foot the bill for as much as their Congressional bribes can buy.

When some protesters used the vehicle roadway (restricting, blocking traffic) on the Brooklyn Bridge & not the pedestrian walkway - they deserved to be arrested.
Don't you think your missing the point.. People are finally taking to the streets employed or not, Wall Street unethical tactics caused the WORLDS economic problems. Greed nothing else caused this. The American worker has become the worlds bitch. We slave while our government bails out the thieves. Who has paid for the crimes they have committed. Not Wall Street not the company that certified them as a solid investments not banker who knew they were writing risky paper or the politician who didn't do their job. Not anyone of the Clinton Bush cronies who looked the other way while they were supposed to be protecting the American people. If there is no deterrents put into place than who going to change their behavior. 5 young people arrested and might get jail time for cheating on their SATS. Now there putting kids in jail for doing what they learned from their politician and government.
-
my uncles were heads of large unions and I know how important they were to the American back in 50's-60's back in the .. but I think that when only government jobs and or gov funded jobs are union which the money comes from the tax payer than we need to change that.. It not fair. It can't just be cops and teacher getting high unfair wages which bankrupt the towns who are forced to raise property taxes to support their outrageous salary.

What do they hope to accomplish? What will they realistically accomplish? (And I am not trying to be a smart - a$.$) * Every protestor person that I heard interviewed gave a different answer to the reason that they are there. (And not many of their reasons sounded like they would get any kind of result - some might be hoping to make it on the nightly news). ** I heard about this idea back around May of this year (Maybe even sooner than that) . There were protests going on in Europe. Some groups in the U.S. thought they could make something happen here in the U.S. and try to convince everyone that there is a new movement going on. They even went as far as offering classes on what to do - what to say - how to act. (It seems like it should be more natural if you really feel it). I donno ..... I am just asking.

First ?official? statement from the Occupy Wall Street movement Occupy Wall Street October 3, 2011 This was unanimously voted on by all members of Occupy Wall Street last night, around 8pm, Sept 29. It is our first official document for release. We have three more underway, that will likely be released in the upcoming days: 1) A declaration of demands. 2) Principles of Solidarity 3) Documentation on how to form your own Direct Democracy Occupation Group. This is a living document. you can receive an official press copy of the latest version by emailing c2anycga@gmail.com Declaration of the Occupation of New York City As we gather together in solidarity to express a feeling of mass injustice, we must not lose sight of what brought us together. We write so that all people who feel wronged by the corporate forces of the world can know that we are your allies. As one people, united, we acknowledge the reality: that the future of the human race requires the cooperation of its members; that our system must protect our rights, and upon corruption of that system, it is up to the individuals to protect their own rights, and those of their neighbors; that a democratic government derives its just power from the people, but corporations do not seek consent to extract wealth from the people and the Earth; and that no true democracy is attainable when the process is determined by economic power. We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self-interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our governments. We have peaceably assembled here, as is our right, to let these facts be known. They have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage. They have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give Executives exorbitant bonuses. They have perpetuated inequality and discrimination in the workplace based on age, the color of one?s skin, sex, gender identity and sexual orientation. They have poisoned the food supply through negligence, and undermined the farming system through monopolization. They have profited off of the torture, confinement, and cruel treatment of countless nonhuman animals, and actively hide these practices. They have continuously sought to strip employees of the right to negotiate for better pay and safer working conditions. They have held students hostage with tens of thousands of dollars of debt on education, which is itself a human right. They have consistently outsourced labor and used that outsourcing as leverage to cut workers? healthcare and pay. They have influenced the courts to achieve the same rights as people, with none of the culpability or responsibility. They have spent millions of dollars on legal teams that look for ways to get them out of contracts in regards to health insurance. They have sold our privacy as a commodity. They have used the military and police force to prevent freedom of the press. They have deliberately declined to recall faulty products endangering lives in pursuit of profit. They determine economic policy, despite the catastrophic failures their policies have produced and continue to produce. They have donated large sums of money to politicians supposed to be regulating them. They continue to block alternate forms of energy to keep us dependent on oil. They continue to block generic forms of medicine that could save people?s lives in order to protect investments that have already turned a substantive profit. They have purposely covered up oil spills, accidents, faulty bookkeeping, and inactive ingredients in pursuit of profit. They purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media. They have accepted private contracts to murder prisoners even when presented with serious doubts about their guilt. They have perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad. They have participated in the torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas. They continue to create weapons of mass destruction in order to receive government contracts.* To the people of the world, We, the New York City General Assembly occupying Wall Street in Liberty Square, urge you to assert your power. Exercise your right to peaceably assemble; occupy public space; create a process to address the problems we face, and generate solutions accessible to everyone. To all communities that take action and form groups in the spirit of direct democracy, we offer support, documentation, and all of the resources at our disposal. Join us and make your voices heard!

EVERYONE...should watch this video!

My solidarity with the movement Occupy Wall Street. Here in my country, Chile, are also mobilized for 5 months with a free public education as we now have the most expensive education in the world, even than you in USA. The process is lengthy, but ultimately will have to impose justice and reason. The world can not remain in the hands of unscrupulous financiers few.

Occupy Wall Street - at first glance seemed like a possible good idea .... the more I read it .... the more it sounds like a bill that goes through the House .... starts off with good intentions and gets filled with pork or garbage. Too much garbage in their plans .... outweigh any good that could be accomplished. I disagree with too much of their direction ..... don't you know that you can count me out.

Hermon Cain says, these demonstration were organized by the Democratic party and a preemptive strike against the Republican party. JCOM!! Go back to your crappy pizza chain. What the hell's wrong with this moron. He added these young people are poor because of choices they made....oh yeah he did, and if they wanted to be rich they just need to go to go to work.. Its no ones fault but there that their not rich and they need to stop complaining. As this guys goes to get Donald Trumps blessing..a guy who runs up a bunch of bills than files chanter 11 and sticks it to his workers. How about enforcing the laws in place to protect the people against these banksters.

Getting money out of the election process is the only way to get change. Now we got full time politician who do nothing so they can get re elected. Work strictly for those big donors And the parties like this. They don't want the system to change because both sides got control of a lot of power and money. www.getmoneyout.com has went from 15,000 when I signed up less than a week ago. To 122,227 signatures. This than will be sent to congress . In the real America it would than show American want change and change would happen.. I think now change will happen when the Rifle Assc is invited to the Wall St protest and the protesters tell Bloomberg we're not staying back two blocks. We going to Wall St. and these guys got our backs. These guys are always wanting the right to bare arms. Well when cops mace people than you better start baring something.

Is anyone surprised that Sarah Pailin is not running for President? She was never going to run. Her only interest was in lining her pockets with donations from believers in false profits -- er, prophets.
