You know what I find most humorous about this thread? Is both sides saying the same exact things about the other side. Stereotyping, both sides....complaining rather than doing something.....both sides. Neither side is in the right, IMO. Sure I go one way more than the other, but reading this thread makes my head spin. What you post about the "other" side is exactly what you are doing yourself.....
I'm on the "other" side of yours, but my head is also spinning reading through this thread. I drop in every once in awhile, but yeah, pretty rough stuff.
agreed...some people are really nasty.
facts do sound nasty to some here

Thanks....at least one person here got what I was trying to get at....it's useless though...
I got it, don't worry. We can agree to disagree about the AL East teams and politics, but I totally back you up on this one.

Well, I'm a big picture person so I only care if a statement blows a hole in an established fact. .
LOL - Your 30 second attention span will lead you to posting some offensively biased Daily KOS garbage as some 'authoritive' word to support your weak arguments...and besides, your very own party just took a sad song and made it 'badder'...LOL...way to handle the Sandra Fluke situation, meatheads from the left Even your very own vile man, Bill Maher, as well as that one white house aide had to take note of the hypocracy...and to watch Obama ignore questions about returning Bill Maher's money was like watching a little kid get mad and want to take his ball and go home - classic And speaking of 'big picture', if you want to at least pretend to be playing that game, try quantifying your 'ideas' with some semblence of rationales, instead of 'we will help the people out' - 'well, how will you do that' - 'by fixing things'...LOL You often finish a post by tauting 'blah blah blah' towards us over the the right...but I think I've realized you're not taunting...you're just parroting what you see in the mirror
So Rich, are you always this subtle? You shouldn't hold back, just say what you mean. Otherwise we might miss your point... :

Well I hope during the next four years that Al Gore would run again. He was an excellent choice in 2000. It would be great after the next four he would run. I am not voting for what I have seen in the Republican circles now. I go for Obama , The repubilicans only complain about what Obama comes up with rather than any alternative plan that they think would work. love doris
You mean like dependence on other countries to drill & supply us with oil & how that contributes to skyrocketing prices to heat homes, to drive, delivery costs (increased food prices), etc ... ??? We are living in the now ... and we don't need all the "hot air" we are currently getting from the Whitehouse. The President and all his rich supporters should purchase Chevy Volts now - not "five years" from now
... This vid from Faux hehe
from the vid: Following GOP strategy, Fox News is again blaming the Obama Administration for rising gas prices -- a claim that has been repeatedly debunked by energy analysts. But back in the summer of 2008 when the average U.S. gasoline price hit a record high of $4.11, Fox said that "no President has the power to increase or to lower gas prices" and the only way to reduce our vulnerability to gas price spikes is to use less oil...Lying hypocrites. Plain and simple. And as long as their "base" keeps drinking the Kool-Aid they'll continue contradicting themselves while insulting the intelligence of us libs.
Its listening to the latest face to foot confrontations by the GOp canidates. The problems started with the adminstration that was in office prior to the Obama adminstration. Obama was left with cleaning up0 and workign with the leftover messes from before. It would be nice for those coming up to for once to remember that the Poorest of the population are often the ones who are the scape goats. We are left out of the decision making process but made to take the blame when The initial problems came from the very higher ups. Perhaps they should look in the mirrors and learn to appreciate what they do have. love doris
-
democrats...have had to bail out republicans...and liberals...for thousands of years..........have you ever noticed that?....
-
Yep we need to have socks and shoes ready for the next Republican debates to put socks and shoes on em love doris

Doesn't matter, the powers that be basically pre-ordain who's gonna win by controlling the media. In other words, it's all fixed. Obama vs. Romney Not sure beyond that, but I imagine they've made up their minds.

Of course. But the question that makes me enter the political thread after all these years is... when will the Bomb Iran thing will start? Is it planned? There is already some portraying in the media as Iran being "a threat" to the USA : and all that... The "Goering" strategy: Goering at the Nuremberg trials: ?Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.?

Well done Darth McCartney Great article I agree, you guys have the much better accents You are spot on and I liked this paragraph:
On both sides of the pond we need a real cash injection to give our economies a much needed boost. ?Where is this cash going to come from?? I hear you cry. ?We?re already being taxed to the eyeballs, this stone has no more blood left to squeeze!? I can?t even begin to imagine how our poor countries can be fixed. I?m just a journalism student in gloomy old Coventry in the gloomy old United Kingdom; I don?t have the answers to this. And I?m pretty sure you guys don?t have the answers either. But then it isn?t our job to have the answers, is it. It?s the job of those in charge (or those wanting to be in charge.)
You're right about cash injection and in the US that could come from taking taxes for the rich to the levels they were under Clinton. But that is a tough call because republicans (our tories ) don't want any part of it. But still we are making improvement because Obama was able to get some stimulus to get the economy started again. The major difference between the 2 sides seems to be that we are improving because we are injecting cash.(.though it's been difficult and not fast enough because the republicans have been fighting it at every turn). But, in the UK and especially the rest of the EU the conservative governments are using austerity measures..and putting pay-back on the backs of the lower classes. That is why the EU is in much worst shape than the US now. Cheers

Welcome back, Oliver The right-wingers here are beating the war drums to attack Iran and their bought and paid for media is echoing them. But, I think Obama is level headed and we need him to maintain that. We need to reelect him and one of the more than 101 reasons to do so is to prevent attack on Iran. The republicans can't wait to get started.

Thanks very much. Glad you liked it. I think the whole things a massive mess at the min. And to be honest the government (both UK and American) need to sort themselves out before they can begin to even think about sorting the rest of the world out!

hmmm the war mongering thing, "the Goering thing" is not about the left wings or right wings... Both sides use to it when they do want to make a war. One of these days we should talk about dems and reps or left and right being just a fake fight kind of those WWF fights that seem real but they're just fake. Hulk Hogan vs The Ultimate Warrior and all that. Europe, now in Europe people are reacting to their anger voting the 2nd most popular party. So if the "left wing" is on charge, they vote the right wing and viceversa. You've seen in the UK, in Spain, you'll seen it soon in France... BUT! the ones replacing keep with the same policies. They speak in a different way so they seem different but now what we call "the right wing" and "the left wing" are the same, do the same. One play the role of bad cop and one plays the role of good cop or so. Europe: Right wing: We should tax the poor Left wing: Oh no, you can't do that RW: It is the only way the economy can recover LW: Ok, well, cause we need to economy to recover to create jobs RW: So, do you agree? LW: I would prefer not but I have no other option to agree. America: RW: Bomb bomb bomb Iran! LW: McCain is mad! RW: Those guys are a threat for us, they're planning to build a nuclear bomb LW: So what, we have thousands, the Ruskies have thousands, even North Korea, Pakistan have the bomb... RW: But they're planning to use it against us in the future, so we must plan to bomb them... just in case! LW: oh, yes, we can't run the risk of being bomb by such rude people RW: So... LW: Ok, I would prefer not but... ok, we'll bomb them In Europe, in the USA... "in works in every nation". You think there is a discussion between the big right wing party and the big left wing party but there's none. The bad and good cop thing is sometimes hilarious because they make a stretch out of it. Like in Greece's parliament aproving the EU bailout by just ONE vote in the LAST minute possible. Or the USA aproving raising the possible Goverment's debt in the LAST minute and all that.... "saving us from a catastrophe" : Overacted good and bad cop game. etc So politics bore me, I'm going back to music... PS: The Good cop/bad cop strategy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_cop
