The ..2012.... Political thread

Do you think it's a heated discussion to ask why someone supports a political party? Policy is what it's all about. If a person can't even defend their party with facts...that's very telling. The republicans don't want to talk about policy now because really their policies have been a disaster. That may sound like an insult to them...but it's the truth. If they don't think it's the truth they should defend it with FACTS. Really, if any other country had done the same amount of damage to the US that the republican party has we would be bombing them now. There's no polite way to say it and I think it's dangerous not to point out where our country went astray. I don't think the exchanges in this thread will really led anywhere just important to counteract lies and misinformation with the truth. I'm not so worried about their hurt feelings as much as I am worried about how they have screwed up the world.
I'm not sure that posting insults at others is really going to solve anything, though. If you believe Republicans are dangerous, then get out there, work on changing policies, lobby, contact government officials, work on the campaign of a Democratic candidate you believe in. You're posting on a musician's forum, not on the White House's webpage.
I do work to change policy. . I think it's hilarious that the repubs don't want attention placed on their multitude of shortcomings. Believe me if there was much that they could criticize about the Dems they would be doing that in spades. But all they have is criticizing Obama's vacation If they don't want to post in the political thread they don't really need to. There're are lots of music threads here for them
If I were a conservative, I would be profoundly embarrassed by what the GOP is offering. Historically, the Dems have had to clean up the Republicans' mess -- and that's what the current President is doing.

Exactly, as I've said before on this thread it's not the candidates that the repubs offer ....it's the policies. Their policies on every level have been a massive failure and if Gandhi started sprouting those policies he'd look like a massive corporatist 1%er, misogynist, racist, climate denier doofus too.'

That reminds me - where has your good buddy Al Gore been lately, since he's been discovered to be a fraud? I figured with this mild winter we've had here in the Northeast, he'd jump out of his hiding place with a big 'AH HA!!!' Btw, your entire posts shows me that all Dems should break out their little aluminum hats to ward off the evils of the world

You really must be working for someone on the left Rec'd Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, shamed as a scam artist in 2010...but yeah, I guess that does still 'deem' him a Nobel Peace Prize winner - in much the same way all of OJ Simpson's 'Good Guy' awards were not technically withdrawn after he Killed Nicole and Ron Goldman...LOL...Tell your buddy to have fun with that award...now that he's been out of the major spot light and relegated to 'star trek convention' level 'talks', I'm sure he's much easier for you to access and kiss ass:-) But anyway - your very own brethen (kooky left) admitted they fabricated data to help manipulate their argument...ice cap is not melting, polar bears are thriving....and worst of all, we (most of the common citizens of the US and world) don't even know what you call it nowadays since you keep changing the name of your lie as your data continuously is disproven...what is it today: 'global warming', 'climate change', 'chili today - hot tomale'....? http://www.wnho.net/global_warming.htm

If Gore had been President: **1)**we would not have lost Clinton's budget surplus to give tax breaks to the rich and to start 2 unnecessary wars. 2) Unnecessary wars because 9/11 probably wouldn't have happened (I can't see wonky Gore ignoring threats from OBL to fly planes into the twin towers. **3)**We would not be worried about the price of gas because I'm sure it would have been President Gores priority to jumpstart a major move to green energy. 4) We would have had all the new jobs from the move to green energy That's just the beginning ....Read it and weep

Reading your points on if Gore had won... ...we truly were robbed.

Weep about what - your unrealistic dreams? LOL...Your bullet points are...what's the right term??? Ah yes - Pipe dreams...LOL. If Al Gore was our president, we would've been where we're at now 4 years sooner - basically on the brink of allowing all the other countries in the world to become 'our daddy'...while at the same time, growing the gov't to control every aspects of our lives so that one day, maybe we'll have to ask them if we can 'go to the potty'....btw, your last bullet point has once again recently been exposed as another fraud as several more of these 'green' investments made by Obama has tanked...thanks...I think I am becoming green - literally.

The best way to change the government is to work with what you have already and improve what is already there that way you can put a spit shine and make it work better love doris

The consequence of that ideal -- while noble -- is that other countries will leave the U.S. in the dust. And it's already beginning to happen. China, for instance. And on the subject of education: Our kids are testing worse than ever -- and many countries are kicking our ass. I know this is disturbing news for the American-exceptionalism-minded.

Perhaps we could learn a few lessons from other countries and perhaps in some cases we need to let other countries conduct their own affairs. We attack other countries , they will sooner or later will want to retaliate. and vice a versa before long WWIII then what kind of world have we got left to reside in. Unless we find an alternative means of dealing with other nations we might not have a world left to live in. That will more than like be of our own doing. love doris

Which is why she's wearing the foolish tin hat meant to protect from unfounded fears, silly - if she were a Republican, the tin hat would be off and instead, she would be preparing herself for the battle to get this country heading back in the right direction - in the hands of a Republican Btw, I still haven't heard anything about what happened to Al Gore, except having read three BS, non factual bullet points from a Gore fanatic - the last I heard, the data provided by scientists working for him and/or 'supporting' his cause was sufficiently and thoroughly debunked and then he went on to ruin his family by molesting one of his 'message spreaders'...though the latter would be inconsequential to me had he actually been 'on base' with the former (unlike you folks on the left, I generally try to leave the politician's personal trash out of it as long as they are doing the job they're supposed to be doing as a public servant)...but in light of everything else with this guy, it's par for the course
