The ..2012.... Political thread

And, yet, you support a sociopathic, habitual liar who has convinced his middle-income supporters that voting against their own interests is the right thing to do.

I doubt that anyone can seriously think that Bush was or Romney will be a better president than Obama.
I can't believe anyone thinks this clown is a good president to begin with - worse than Carter...he is good at playing the 'blame game' (bu bu bu but Bush...LOL - at least he can successfully interject humor into a sad topic)...and I have no idea where the job numbers some are posting here are coming from, when in fact, less people are working today than back in 2008 (fact)...Add to that, Obama has invested money into complete failing 'green' investments, has attempted (and succeeded to some extent) of creating class, gender and race warfare (basically because his presidential record sucks so bad, he can't run on that), and has befriended terrorist (not to mention basically promise the Russians our nuclear program 'after he gets re-elected)...Fortunately more and more people are starting to wake up to this clown's failings and it shows in polls every day (even in polls involving groups who were once decidedly pro-Obama, such as women, Latinos, blacks and others)...Heck, even the gay community is confused over the message Dems are serving up, on one hand claiming to be the 'party of compassion and acceptance' while on the other hand, acting with homophobic undertones as they laugh and say 'ha ha you have a gay person on your team' whenever a gay person from the right is outed. You want him? As far as I'm concerned, you can start up your own nation on some little lsland and take him with you
Things I've learned from Rich... *Conservatives make jokes about the Occupy Wall Street, carrying water for the 1% and mocking those for being dirty, lazy, etc. They look for work and can't get it, but because they dare shed light on the issue and it ends up on the doorstep of a primarily conservative group, these folks are hand-out-hungry liberals attempting to start class warfare. *Conservatives time and again bring up the dead issue of Obama's supposedly dubious citizenship. Despite releasing his long-form birth certificate, this issue lingers. When, in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, these people won't accept reality, and those who wonder if the president's skin color plays into the lunatic fringe's inability to accept his citizenship, liberals are manipulative race-baiters. *When any legitimate criticism of his predecessor is brought up, conservatives somehow think that Obama operates in a vacuum in which none of the previous presidents' actions impact his decisions. When the criticism becomes specific enough to highlight George W. Bush's foibles in particular, conservatives and others of your ilk deflect the topic, making jokes about some sort of "blame game," as if by the evening of 1/20/09, President Bush could be absolved of any criticism whatsoever. *Conservatives are so threatened by Obama's intellect, they latch on to myths and minor missteps (TELEPROMPTER!! 47 STATES?!, and my personal favorite, OBAMA'S GIVING RUSSIA OUR NUCLEAR SECRETS!!) to paint him as a buffoon. Rather than acknowledge the president's amazing personal success story, conservatives would rather believe Barack Obama is some sort of Manchurian candidate, plucked from Kenya and given rise to power by the state of Hawaii and liberal elites at Harvard and within the LIBRUHL MEDIA. *The most powerful conservative voice calls a woman voicing her opinion on birth control a "slut." Conservatives flood the 24-hour news cycle to smear the woman's name, attempt find examples of others on the left using similar language, fail and instead hold left-leaning comedians to the same-standard as a nationally-syndicated broadcast radio host. After exhausting themselves spearheading a movement to defend Rush Limbaugh, conservatives become shocked and annoyed that anyone would dare suggest Limbaugh holds substantive influence over conservatives. Yet anyone who dare criticize Limbaugh's words or defend Sandra Fluke's is attempting to start a gender war. *The Democratic Party becomes the first major American political party with a sitting president to endorse gay marriage. Some conservatives equate a homosexual relationship to bestiality. Some liberals find it amusing that Republicans, who so holier-than-thou in their words speak about "family values" when discussing homosexuality, are outed as homosexuals; rather than acknowledging the irony, some conservatives actually think that liberals are 'selling out' gays.' As a result of all of this, the most delusional of conservatives attempt to spin the modern Republican Party as more gay-friendly than the Democratic Party. *Any poll that forecasts positive conservative news is the most accurate, scientifically sound sample whose findings are unimpeachable. Conversely any poll with negative conservative or positive liberal trends MUST be a disingenuous lefty concoction.

Obamanomics is all about passing the blame and/or changing the topic.
Then explain why we've had 24 consecutive months of job GROWTH under Obama. Prove me wrong. Dare ya'.
I dare you to prove yourself right. The big lie regarding job growth figures has been exposed
And where none of this was President Bush's fault then, it's all President Obama's fault now, right?

Sorry, but I don't speak in absolutes like that...I will say that whatever was wrong with our economy in 2008 was only made worse by the numbnuts in the whitehouse

That is the most cowardly, evasive response I've seen since -- well -- Mitt Romney's response to the President's recent Executive Order to stop the deportation of 800,000 immigrants. If you're not man enough to admit the glaringly obvious factors that contributed to the U.S. economic downturn on Bush's watch -- then debating with you is a futile endeavor.

So in saying that there's some blame that can be cast upon both parties is cowardly? Is that what I'm hearing?

6/14/2012 President Obama: The Biggest Government Spender In World History The U.S. has never before had a President who thinks so little of the American people that he imagines he can win re-election running on the opposite of reality. But that is the reality of President Obama today. ... ?There is, now, a house-of-cards feel about this administration... (it's alarming) the idea that he knows so little about the effects of his own economic program that he thinks he really is a low spender.? http://www.forbes.com/sites/peterferrara/2012/06/14/president-obama-the-biggest-government-spender-in-world-history/ He knows that he's a big spender ... His goal is a bigger government than ever ... When he said, "The private sector is doing fine..." that was not a faux pas, (I believe) it was truly him speaking from his heart. It's the public sector that he wants to grow and the expense of the private sector no matter how many people it economically hurts!
Unfortunately, here are the facts not that they mean anything to the brain-dead delusional repubs. : : http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2012/03/obama-most-fiscally-conservative-president-in-modern-history/254658/ Yep, the greatest growth in government spending (since Nixon) HAS BEEN WITH ALL REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTS lowest government spending has bee all Dem presidents The repub brain can not absorb facts due to being brain washed that is why they vote against their own interests like the lemmings they are

How DARE you go, substantiating your position with facts!??? Oy vey! Fear, ignorance and pie-in-the-sky, hair-brained theories are what resonate with conservatives.

I try to stay away from this thread because of lame statements like "The repub brain can not absorb facts due to being brain washed" Really? Come on.....

Republican principles are not the issue. It is Republican politicians who have sullied the ideology. Bill Clinton was a pretty darn good Republican.
-
All I see is a bunch of name calling to people who may not agree with the other persons ideas or beliefs.......no one gets anywhere doing that
-
In addition to debating my conservative friends, I also vote.

If you really read this thread you will see that this is true...the repubs who come on this thread do not absorb facts Such as post I posted above re US republican governments being the ones who have increased government spending MUCH MORE then dem. governments. List all the research with all the stats and FACTS and then again they come back over and over with the same crap Obama biggest spender. They seem to think that facts are opinion..stunningly ignorant. The republican representatives policies deny climate change and scientific evidence..when the facts prove them overwhelmingly, absolutely wrong. They can't really debate anything because they don't know how to use facts. The republican economic policy has been a massive failure..yet they promote the same policies that caused the failure. Their followers vote against their own best interests. If that isn't brain washed ignorance I don't know what it is. I'll be glad to discuss any of this...but I warn I will use FACTS difficult to avoid them and have any accuracy. It's also difficult to be polite to those who have caused so much destruction to humanity by their policies.

I do read this thread......all the time. I just choose not to post much because of the ridiculous banter back and forth....and no I don't call it a debate. I think both sides show facts, which are convienent to their side only and totally disregard the facts shown on the other side. I also feel one side has caused so much destruction to humanity by their policies, but I choose not to call them spineless and brain-washed....

The choice is simple: You can support the side that makes focused efforts to stabilize the economy -- and has. Or you can support the side that has repeatedly screwed up the economy.

Ron Paul speaks a LOT of truth -- however, his ideology of virtually zero government would have disastrous results.

Not true, you can also choose not to support either of these 2 sides. Like I do, for instance. Also you can choose to support BOTH of these 2 sides. Like big corporations do, for instance.
