Okay I'm from Netherland and watch (at least my husband) the games. Monday there was a question on the tele here and I can't find the answer With this kind of championship all the players have to be born in the country they played for so why is it that the coach can be from an other country : Not that we have to complain about good coaches Marco van Basten with Netherland, Guus Hiddink for Rusland and Leo Beenhakker for Poland So if someone know this answer PLEASE LET ME KNOW
The rules of nationality only apply to players. Not to technical stuff, like coaches, medicians, all kind of assistants. Only players, and is not exactly about being born... sometimes if a player has lived for some years in some country and hasn't played in the national team of the country he was born, he can play with the nation he's living. Like Marcos Senna that was born in Brazil, Deco too, Podolski in Poland, etc.

Portugal show!, though Chechs tried hard especially with crossings... It looks like Germany vs Portugal on semifinals. I'm glad that here is not the same history repeated. Spain won the first match of the last world cup to Ukraine 3-0, and people started to think we were the favourites or that the tournament and that was meant to be won by Spain. Now people know that depending on the way the rivals play, it's not gonna be so easy. So when the hard match will come it will not be a shock. Amongst all this football mood and personal memories (hey, a hell pass by Cristiano ) I thought or organizing something in my city, an amateur football tourmament or so for June and July, or even just some matches, I missed them a lot, and it's hard to find people who want to play these days. I hope Euro Cup will get someone in the mood... I was kind of joking of calling this "The Andres Iniesta tournament" as he lives here in this city... well... very close of the fields when we would play. Though he was born far away not in Barcelona. He (Iniesta) signed us some chess boards for a thing our chess club does with children... and 2 balls with the signatures of all the Barça team (Ronaldinho's signature filled two hexagon of the ball... :lol.

I know that the players must have a passport from the country they played for but still it's weird that the players can play in their national team and the rest can be from the moon So still the question WHY : it isn't a real national team with assistance from other countries

my predictions for today: Croatia - Germany 1:3 Austria - Poland 2:1

Ok, Why? because the FIFA rules are this way, they want it that way, that's all. Like many other things in football, well, in FIFA football. But it happens in the Olympics too... a... basketball team, for instance, can have a coach from another country... Let me remind the coach is not a player , is not part of the team, if we went that mad we'll have to know if the physical trainer, the ones that cook the food... etc. are from the same country, it would be impossible to know it.

It seems there's another controversy with Aragones in Spain, this time with Torres. Torres: "If he (Aragones) has got something to tell me, tell it to me now". It seems that when Torres was substitued he didn't shake the hand of Aragones, waiting for him, throwed away the clothes for players that don't play, and did angry gestures. Maybe that's Raul repeated. In the meantime, Villa has a fissure on a finger.... of his hand. Because of the celebration of the first goal. It's the hand, not the feet, no problem for playing.
