Royal Wedding - Prince William to Marry Kate Middleton
-
it's a good thing that almost all local tv stations here in the philippines are covering this event, the royal wedding. we're taking a break from all the bad news.

SurSteven:
so, republicans think that it is the same time every where that they are?
Good republicans do whatever the talking heads tell them to do like writing to the PM website when Paul tells a joke Jessie... you're so right, it's nice to see something so happy on the news. Thanks so much for the info Martin I don't watch the news, because it's usually just bad news. I just happened to see a paper in the lunchroom... it gave the schedule of events, starting at 0500 with Kate leaving her hotel and William leaving Clarendon House. It was the centerfold and was all mapped out. I couldn't figure out why they were getting married so early.... am happy to hear that it's just been translated to the time for NYC. I guess I should have figured that out myself.... it was a rough day Thanks!!

Wow!!! Martin, thanks so much for taking the time to post all of this information...wonderful!!! We have been following along all day into the evening...really great to see everyone sooooo excited!!! Looking forward to a beautiful morning!

Where did I read that Kate's sister wanted to put up disco balls in the ballroom!! That did not fly very well...

The private functions fall into two events. The afternoon the Queen hosts a post wedding party - with some music being provided by the Royal Harpist. The Royal Harpist has held that title for some four years or m ore and has performed for royalty of various standing on over 150 occasions. She is familiar with William and Catherine and W & C have browsed her CDs and made several selections for her programme. Then it is reported the Queen and Prince Philip will leave Buckingham Palace to the younger generation for their own evening do. Who knows who or what will unfold then - and 70's disco balls might well be in order Martin

They have just shown footage from last night of a furtive figure scuttling into Catherines hotel hidden under a large fur trapper hat: http://fashion.telegraph.co.uk/news-features/TMG8481788/Royal-wedding-tantalising-clue-points-to-Sarah-Burton-as-Kate-Middletons-dress-designer.html The BBC fashionista claim that there were identifiable style pointers suggesting that this was the dress designer - and the person has been named as Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. Certainly the bookies have stopped taking bets...... This article has the suggestion that Sarah Burton is only the fitter and the dress has been taken from designs from the late Alexander McQueen himself......: http://www.graziadaily.co.uk/fashion/archive/2011/04/29/sarah-burton-spotted---the-dress-is-vintage-mcqueen.htm Martin

Just got home and saw some footage of the whole thing! One thing I have to admit, a truly beautiful wedding dress! But the exchange of the rings looked painful, at least for for the bride!

Gorgeous dress!!!

Wow , just Wow not a monarchist here but some things stood out I loved the trees in the Abbey...like inviting nature to join the celebration..a good omen the Bishop of London did a brilliant job with his remarks so good I had to look it up because some words stood out:
We stand looking forward to a century which is full of promise and full of peril. Human beings are confronting the question of how to use wisely the power that has been given to us through the discoveries of the last century. We shall not be converted to the promise of the future by more knowledge, but rather by an increase of loving wisdom and reverence, for life, for the earth and for one another.
the couple so obviously love each other...another good omen. William choose his bride..that was apparent.

William and Catherine returned to Clarence House after the afternoon reception. We were promised a surprise and under the watchful eyes of the Prince's own yellow search and rescue helicopter flying his flag over the Mall and the Palace the couple drove themselves to Clarence House in "Dad's" blue Aston Martin - top down of course. Dressed traditionally with balloons and bunting, and bearing the number plate JU5T WED, William drove with Catherine by his side - still in her wedding gown both waving happily to all sides. It was just a short drive but a delightful bonus for those reluctant to leave the Mall. Martin

I just love the pomp and circumstance of the Brits. The entire ceremony was beautiful. I couldn't get over the ages of the bridesmaids--3 to 8. Those 3 year olds won't remember this big day. William appears to have the charisma of his mother, as does Catherine. You could read her lips when they came on the balcony and she said "oh wow". Only disappointment was those two little pecks for kisses. Best wishes to the newlyweds.
