Now, hold yourself back for this cultural extravaganza................ John Barrowman (aka Captain Jack) is starring at the Birmingham Hippodrome this Christmas in their pantomime. http://www.birminghamhippodrome.com/?page=89&show=191 And making their pantomine debut .......... ............... The Daleks Should make sure things are a Blast Martin
-
That should be interesting, but I think I'm more up for seeing John Simm again in Elling. I saw him in May front row with only 80 odd people in The Bush Theatre in Hammersmith. John Simm is a fantastic actor.

I really enjoyed the episode last night. I agree John Simm is fantastic! I wish I'd watched Life On Mars now!
-
You can watch it again now on BBC Three. The Master! I was so close to John in the play (I was literally sitting on the stage) that his saliva when he spoke went on my face. I didn't care. The play is now in a much bigger theatre due to its success.

I bet you'll not forget seeing JS like that I'm just wondering how Dr Who will all end next week...
-
It'll end in tremendous style that's how Far too early to be posting spoiler details. But at the end Captain Jack reveals an interesting connection to another character that has featured periodically throughout the last few years. Look out for it Just how they keep these various threads connected I'll never know Martin
-
what a nice bit at the end Jack is the face eh
-
...and the Doctor turns into Dobby (from Harry Potter) too! Podgie (very cool!) Monkey

I was gobsmacked about the 'interesting connection' Does make a lot of sense though

News appearing in the Breakfast TV News today. Kylie Minogue will appear in a one-off role in the Christmas special - no mention of the role - other than she won't be playing a "baddie". http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6262094.stm I really love it when people that are my personal favorites come together in this way. Especially after Kylies health scare. And as to Martha's "departure" at the end of this series - they are confirming she will return in the next series "at some point" - but not before spending a while with Captain Jack at Torchwood: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6260374.stm But that was obvious when she pressed her special mobile phone upon the Doctor and made him commit to keeping it close by in case she wants him. Martin

Hmmm....Kylie Minogue in the Christmas Special? At the end of the last episode, all I can picture is her (in place of Kate Hudson) and Leonardo DiCaprio (yelling "I'm King Of The World!") falling into the Tardis. Podgie (active imagination) Monkey
-
I can see the script writers already loading the script with visual and verbal puns and jokes. The subject matter just offers up so many opportunities.............. If you have it on tape/dvd it's worth revisiting the The Shakespeare Code - that was loaded with such as well. Martin

I am a huge Torchwood fan so only started to watched Dr Who to look out for the Captain Jack references. But I thought David Tennant was just brill as The Doctor and I have so enjoyed the whole of this last series. Great writing with subtle story threads running through lots of episodes. Can't wait for the Christmas episode.
-
I've read Catherine Tate's going to be back with her 'Donna' character. I wonder if she'll be his companion for a few episodes : I'm looking forward to Torchwood returning
-
As an adult I'm perfectly happy with the interplay between shows. I have previously flagged up to the uninitiated that Torchwood deals with more adult themed storylines - not all suitable for the Dr Who younger viewers. I hope that if Martha spends a while with Torchwood, as suggested in those BBC news stories, that they don't "taint" her character in those late-night storylines, considering that she seems to be pencilled in to return to the early evening Dr Who show. Interesting news about maybe the return of Donna! I'd like that. Martin

I am the Paulrus:
I saw "Daleks in Manhattan" and I just laughed at the Dalek-Human hybrid. I just couldn't take him seriously with hearing a Dalek speak with a Brooklyn accent. Furthermore, he coulda been DALek Capone. And his appearance reminded me of Mr.Bean when he got his head stuck in the turkey in that Christmas episode. You decide, are these two twins seperated at birth? : Human Dalek - Oversized image, so please click the link
LOL!!! Great comparison there!
