Daleks 'Doctor's scariest enemies' Press Assoc. - Friday, April 20, 2007 http://uk.news.yahoo.com/pressass/20070420/ten-daleks-doctor-s-scariest-enemies-5f8abb3.html The Daleks have exterminated their rivals as Doctor Who's scariest villains despite the creation of new hi-tech enemies, according to a new survey. The Daleks, which were almost left out of the BBC's modern Doctor Who, have seen off threats by new monsters such as the Beast and the Empty Child Zombies. A poll of 21,000 Doctor Who fans was commissioned to mark the Daleks' debut appearance in the third series of the revived BBC show on Saturday night. Nick Briggs, the voice behind the Daleks, said: "I've been fortunate enough to provide the voices for a wide variety of Doctor Who villains over the years, but the Daleks seem to have stood the test of time as the scariest and most iconic space terrors that the Doctor has ever encountered." Doctor Who senior script writer Russell T Davies said: "Every time the Daleks return we make them bigger and better than ever before, and this time, their plan is the most audacious Dalek scheme yet." He warned: "Even the Doctor finds himself out of his depth." The Daleks feature in a special two-part story, featuring David Tennant and new companion Freema Agyeman, set in 1930s New York. Doctor Who fans were horrified when the Daleks were originally ruled out of the comeback show after the BBC and creator Terry Nation's representatives failed to agree a deal - but they were eventually reinstated.

The real New York this week. I like the episode, but I still find fault with Martha running around in out of period dress and not being confronted about it. She seems very out of place! This weeks episode is "To Be Continued" also! Podgie (the thing that was born was pretty cool!!!) Monkey

The teaser trailer at the end of The Lazarus Project (this Saturday's episode) makes it quite clear that Captain Jack will feature in the next episode. That'll be on Saturday 19th May as Dr Who takes a week off to allow for Eurovision Song Contest. Martin
-
And Cpt Jack looked sooooooooo yummy in that preview too!!
-
But who will be cuddling whom? I've never seen the show get so hormonal before I wonder if this will be the direct tie-in story line with the end of the last season of Torchwood. It was clear that Captain Jack "disappeared" in a time machine at the end of that - I presumed that to be The Doctor's Tardis. Martin

Yes, I think there is a cross over between the two ...Torchwood and Dr Who I mean, not the who will be cuddling who, LOL!!! ops:

I saw "Daleks in Manhattan" and I just laughed at the Dalek-Human hybrid. I just couldn't take him seriously with hearing a Dalek speak with a Brooklyn accent. Furthermore, he coulda been DALek Capone. And his appearance reminded me of Mr.Bean when he got his head stuck in the turkey in that Christmas episode. You decide, are these two twins seperated at birth? : Human Dalek - Oversized image, so please click the link

Cuddly.... mmm I can't wait to see Mr Saxon!!! I know he is evil, but I saw him (John Simm) on Saturday (front row) in Hammersmith in the play Elling. He was absolutely fantastic!

Michelle Collins was on the BBC Breakfast TV sofa this morning talking about her role in this weekends episode. Apparently one of the "asides" sub-plots in this episode is an argument amongst the characters as to whom had the greatest number of #1 hit singles - Elvis or The Beatles? Can't wait to see how they sew that in! PS none of the recent trailers have shown Capt Jack - I wonder why, I'd have thought that would have been a great draw, he was definately in the next episode clip at the end of the last show. Martin

Who in The Cavern (Doctor Who convention in Liverpool) Ah, 2 of me favourites: The Beatles and Doctor Who: http://www.whointhecavern.co.uk/images/cavern.jpg http://www.whointhecavern.co.uk/

Hi Martin. The trailor at the end of The Lazerus Experiment was for the remainder of the series. Jack is back for the last three episodes. I can't wait for him to come back!

I was kinda hoping that Captain Jack and the rest of the Torchwood misfits were gone for good after falling into that time vortex. I watched Torchwood, only because of the references that tied in with Dr. Who, but the kissing scene at the RAF dance...well, it turned me off competely. As a matter of fact, I am pretty convinced that the real Captain Jack was shot down by his own men. Podgie (you can definitely see the gay writers influence in both shows, but they are much more subtle in Dr Who) Monkey :

I noticed that on BBC interactive about the trailor that was shown. When I saw it at first on the end of the last ep, I thought it meant the next episode coming up too Like you I can't wait for Jack to come back

Did anyone see last night's Dr Who? (42). I thought it was fab and probably the best of the series so far.
-
Another great show, but a bit over the top suspense-wise. What is up with the Beatles-Elvis question? Everything I've read has the Beatles over Elvis in #1s (20 compared to 1. Elvis had more consecutive number ones though. Again there is that gay-factor cropping up with the two guys left in the ship. Podgie (Maybe Captain Jack will stay lost in the Time Vortex...he wasn't in this show) Monkey

I watched "Blink" last night, it was another of those third person stories they like to throw in from time to time with The Doctor and Martha only appearing as bit players. I know the jury's out on this type of story - I personally love them. I loved the way they cranked up the tension at the end suggesting we all need to keep an eye on our local statues and gargoyles................ ...................... just don't blink Martin
-
I think this episode was the best one of the series so far I loved the storyline ....and I see by the end trailer, at last! next week Jacks back!
-
The episode on saturday was brilliant and the best of the series. The thought of the rumours being true and Russell doing a flit soon is terrifying.....whatever they do they have to keep him involved in some way.....the BBC are legendary for ballsing things up when they are left solely in charge of projects.
