TCM and Classic Film Discussion in General

Tonight's Essential: A must see Mother's Day classic... I Remember Mama (8PM EDT)
Triplets Love Paul:
A beautiful film offering a heartwarming study of family life that every mother and child should see. Irene Dunne's Oscar-nominated performance as Mama is overwhelmingly touching! Barbara Bel Geddes, Ellen Corby, and Oskar Homolka also received Oscar nominations for their performances. A delight from beginning to end!
If you LOVE Irene Dunne as much as I do, stay tuned for another touching film, The White Cliffs of Dover - beautiful cinematography! Enjoy!!!

^ Premium for sure, Steve! Great flick! The Oscar-winning performances of both Anne Bancroft and Patty Duke are amazing in this film! Just finished watching The Fly, so cool!!! I had not seen this film in quite a while. No matter how many times I see it, the "Help me! Help me!" bit still sends chills down my spine!

Much better than Wasp Woman, which I had not seen before. The premise wasn't bad it was far from Corman's best.

I was channel surfing tonight and saw the talk introducing "Here Comes Mr. Jordon" ... I did not even plan on watching .... well the next thing you know .... I watched the whole movie ..... I enjoyed the mix of comedy and characters and that certain something that seemed to be in the classics in the 1941 time frame - an easy going movie that seemed right for watching tonight ( A Heaven Can Wait ) type of movie ...... and so they made Heaven Can Wait ... years later

I first saw The Wasp Woman earlier this year and then a second look this past week On Demand. The first time I heard the "Help me! Help me!" bit I immediately thought of The Fly. This film starts off alright, but suddenly turns crazy. : The mask/wig/hat costume is more than I can handle!

Speaking of Shirley Temple...Did anyone see the 5 year old girl named Heavenly that did a Shirley like routine on America's Got Talent? If you get a chance to search it, you won't be disappointed.

Per your recommendation, I checked out Heavenly's performance on America's Got Talent. She is very cute, her face is adorable! Heavenly has the sort of look and voice that makes me believe she will have a long career with Disney and/or on Broadway! Steve, I know you like The Day the Earth Stood Still, if you have not already noticed, this film airs this evening at 11PM EDT. Yesterday, I had a bit of time to relax and found myself enjoying TCM with the airing of Duel in the Sun, Heaven Can Wait, and North by Northwest. Gregory Peck, Don Ameche, Cary Grant, and James Mason all in one day - almost more than I can handle!
