Annie Oakley (1935) Just got done watching this! How cool! Haven't seen it in a long time. The atmosphere in these old movies is so neat!
-
^ Glad you enjoyed this film, Steve! I, too, had not seen this film in quite a while and happy that I took the time to do so last night. As you have noted, very...... Stanwyck was perfect for this role. Late this afternoon.....Hitch! Notorious (4 PM EDT) Cary Grant, Ingrid Bergman, and Claude Rains Dial M for Murder (6 PM EDT) Ray Milland, Grace Kelly, and Robert Cummings

This evening at 6:30 PM EDT... A Carol for Another Christmas If you missed this film during the holiday season, it is worth taking the time to see this unusually dark version of D i c k e n s' A Christmas Carol. This made for television film was first aired in 1964 as a United Nations special and had not been shown on television again until December 2012. This film is a must see, if for no other reason, a sign of the times from which it originated. With the screenplay written by Rod Serling, one may gather a sense of The Twilight Zone throughout this film, which also makes this a must see for fans of The Twilight Zone series. Eerily poignant, this film brings forth the spirit of A Christmas Carol.

The baseball marathon starts Monday evening but, alas, no Rhubarb on the schedule. Sorry, Anita. Preceding that, however, is a slew of Lon Chaney films for a rare day of silents (and one talkie).
-
Rhubarb......... I wonder if Rhubarb is on DVD, time to do some research. Thanks so much for the heads-up on the Chaney films, looking forward to The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Some of his films are bizarre but always compelling.

Missed Hunchback, but caught some of The Monster and as you have written...compelling. "How can I ever be worthy of a wonderful man like you?" "Use your ingenuity." Thanks again for the heads-up!

Anita, don't be fooled if your cable is like mine and shows tonight's late showing, "Perfect Understanding" as starring O.B. Clarence and Peter Hawthorne (should be Gawthorne). It actually stars Gloria Swanson and Laurence Olivier. The other two are minor part players. Sounds intriguing (after looking up on IMDB).
-
