Early this morning before dawn, I went out and gazed at the orangish crescent moon low in the western sky.

Things are still very uncertain on Ceres, even after the latest close up shots of the bright spots... http://uk.businessinsider.com/dawn-closest-images-of-ceres-spots-2015-6?r=US

this is sooooo incredibly cool how they put the astronomer and geographer together...and the digitals too! I've seen the Astronomer in the Louvre with the Lacemaker!

It has some really amazing photos Just had to post this one, since these photos of auroras never look as amazing in a photo, as they do in person, this one must have been so spectacular, as the photo seems to be. Plus the reflection in the water ! http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap150504.html

Did you see the mountain on Ceres? http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap150630.html

wonder how it compares to Olympus Mons? Saw a conglomeration video of the flyby, going to look now... Any news on the lights!?

Haven't heard anything definite. I think Olympus Mons is bigger than Ceres. (Not really) Did you ever see an elevation relief of Mars? There is an incredibly huge indentation on the opposite side of Mars where Olympus Mons is. It is obviously a massive impact crater that sent streams of energy through Mars and raised the terrain around and including Olympus Mons.

It dwarfs it really, at 27 kilometers, it's so wide it curves into the horizon! Just saw this about "Pyramid" mountain and that the crater with the reflective ice, salt, unknown mineral is 9 km wide.
I still have trouble with sizes when it comes to the UNIVERSE!! Get hung up in multi dimensions Sometimes the stars and moon seem so close! No I never saw that about the other side of Olympus Mons, there's an impact crater? I didn't think that was possible!! -
Olympus Mons is on the opposite side of Mars as the impact crater. I think that 3 mile tall "Pyramid" could be an asteroid that landed on Ceres instead of impacting at high velocity. I will try to find that Mars relief link that I had,

I found this, am trying to place Olympus Mons... I thought it was a classic shield volcano? https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d9/Mars_Global_Topo_PIA02035.jpg That blue is looking like the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific ocean to me I even see Mauna Kea in the Pacific

Just found this at the MOLA site. That Blue indentation on the right in the lower photo is opposite the Olympus Mons terrain on the left. http://mola.gsfc.nasa.gov/images/topo_labeled.jpg
