Had fun trying to zoom in on the moon with my point and shoot! Wish I had the tripod, it was so beautiful out!
Beautiful!
Thank You we're using the same camera too!

I'm still learning to use it, my last one conked out taking a photo of the ConcertGebouw, of all places! I like the green horizon line, which did not work for the moon! also the multi shot photos seem good, but may be a problem where there's a lot of movement. All and all 30 x zoom is Great!

APOD has a great series of photos of the progression of the eclipse over a lightning storm! Very cool! http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap150929.html

This photo from NASA is so beautiful! A supersonic jet, breaking the sound barrier, against the Sun, taken from above. http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/imagegallery/iotd.html?id=370819 Want to get that printed and framed.

Very cool photo, especially that bright light at the center!

Seems that blackholes are to be found at the center of most galaxies, eating matter with such ferocity that we get the emission of light in the process. Here's another Pluto flyby pic with a little bit different perspective. Today's APOD offering... http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap151006.html

There's a novel or short story where Earth is actually a black hole.

Our Souls may be an exotic quantum particle blackhole that is pulling in information and jetting it out in streams of energy from its poles. Much like blackholes as we know them do. I guess they have found blue skies and reddish ice water on Pluto! http://www.coasttocoastam.com/article/nasa-scientists-make-surprising-discovery-on-pluto/

Happy New Moon! October 13th 00:06 UTC

There seems to be a lot of coronal mass injections from the sun lately, causing these rare ( but recently not so rare) red and purple aurora borealis, and captured by Cdr Scott Kelly, from the International a Space Station. They are so beautiful. The particles are reacting with our upper atmosphere. http://www.cnn.com/videos/us/2015/09/07/scott-kelly-space-station-aurora-borealis-orig.cnn/video/playlists/international-space-station/

The Earth at Night...photographed from space showing the whole globe. Very interesting to see the population densities by virtue of the artificial lighting...and the dark wide open spaces. http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/image/1212/dnb_land_ocean_ice.2012.3600x1800.jpg
