The Sun, the Moon, and the Stars

I get my news from the TV and newspapers. I think I'm doing it wrong.
It's too depressing... If you set up what you're interested in, then it's a more positive day. You'll hear about the bad stuff from someone else and you can control/choose how much of the negative imput you take in daily... Until we get more media that focuses on all the good that happens every day, and that goes un-noticed. Creating an unnecessarily bleak and frightening outlook, where there need not be. It's controlling and manipulating to the negative, and people need to shield themselves from it all... imho
-
I agree completely. We need more positive news on the news. The world isn't all death and destruction. Not by a long shot. People are doing great things every day. But I also don't like the idea of picking and choosing your news. They're supposed to tell us what we need to know to make informed choices. By picking the news we want to hear, we're only getting what we want to hear. Then you might as well just watch Fox or MSNBC.

Don't go over the edge now! There's not that much news every day, and too much drama over and over. European news seems to give a better perspective, to me anyway... Internet news is an overall picture, and you can drill it down with videos, without the overall feeling of mayhem bombarding your senses. BBC does a good job of it.

That ship sailed a long time ago.

I've mostly been watching France24 lately. They're far less repetitive than CNN. They also seem more human than corporate. The internet is hit and miss. It's hard to find articles that were ever read by a proofreader.

President Hollande just offered asylum to works of art threatened by IS IS and is going to protect with all measures, the artwork of France!

You know the world is moving in the wrong direction when you have to protect art from terrorists.

The thought of it is sheer terror. From watching Monument Men, I realized the extent of the Nazis in WWII...

Found this link for some cool NASA videos, there's Ceres and Pluto and the astronauts on Thanksgiving as well as the sign and brightening magnetic loops on the sun! http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/videogallery/index.html

^ If we could see just a fraction of the lights in the sky with their planets, closer and sped up. This is what they'd look like. Very interesting stuff from Kepler Space Telescope... http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap151205.html

^ That APOD is really cool! Wonder what part of space, or Constellation it's near?

That is a composite of Kepler images from all over space.

The funny thing is that while my last comment was tongue in cheek, I did look on ebay, and it is a hot spot to buy moonrocks (if you really wanted one - they're pretty expensive though)

That's funny because an old Wonder Woman show that I ran across last night was about someone having stolen some Moonrocks.

They had said they were stolen by some dude from "inside" NASA, in order to impress a girl... They didn't mention it was Wonder Woman tho

I read up on those, apparently the Moonrocks that were lent out to institutions for study, weren't catalogued that well, winding up with those rocks being taken, and then later sold on EBay. I miss Honesty being a virtue...I guess I'm just considered old fashioned these days...
