That would make a beautiful painting!
Yes indeed it would, know anyone I could commission?
I've known a few artists who could do it...but, haven't talked to them in ages. I was studying that photo the other night...the incredibly detailed trees perfectly represent their dark winter setting and the aurora looks like a colorful mystical nightngale bringing light to the deep winter landscape. It would make a magical painting indeed!
Lovely!

The full moon is stunningly beautiful tonight, check it out!
-
It was cloudy outside, so I went back and searched through some pics and found this one that I took of the moon last February. Thought you might think it's cool!
-
^ Very cool, eerily beautiful! Head tilting to the right, it looks a bit like an alien hand holding the moon - the up-reaching arm extending to the bend of the wrist, onward to the elongated fingers.
-
^ It was definitely an Alfred Hitchcock kind of a sky that night! The alien arm, wrist and fingers are easily seen! I just went out and could finally see it through a cloudy haze. It's at about 45 degrees in the east.

Total lunar eclipse to reveal 'blood moon' in night sky http://www.foxnews.com/science/2014/04/14/total-lunar-eclipse-to-reveal-blood-moon-in-night-sky/
The first total lunar eclipse of 2014 occurs in the overnight hours tonight and will be visible across most of North America, South America, Hawaii and parts of Alaska. Depending on your location, it begins either late tonight or in the wee hours of Tuesday, but as with every skywatching event, you can only see it if Mother Nature cooperates. Tonight's lunar eclipse runs from 12:53 a.m. EDT (0453 GMT) to about 6 a.m. EDT (1000 GMT). How to Watch Tonight's Total Lunar Eclipse: http://www.space.com/25479-total-lunar-eclipse-2014-skywatching-guide.html
'Blood Moon' will be a sight to behold weather permitting http://www.cnn.com/2014/04/11/tech/innovation/blood-moon/
For gazing geeks, NASA has set up a live web chat to answer questions about the eclipse starting at 1 a.m. ET. http://www.nasa.gov/topics/solarsystem/features/watchtheskies/lunar-eclipse-2014.html#.U0yenlcS2So

2 to 3 in the morning here...will set my internal alarm clock
-
^ Sadly is appears as though we will not see much here, we'll have to watch online, not sure I'll make it.
-
Supposed to have a good view of the eclipse out West here tonight, but I slept so badly last night and have a head cold, so I'm sure I won't want to drag myself out of bed at midnight, we shall see though. Would be lovely to see.

^ It was partly cloudy and below freezing here, so I opted to stay sleeping as well. Have sure enjoyed the celestial events I have been able to see, although.
-
There was snow last night ... so the sky would only show snowflakes .... this happens so many times when there are happenings - such as eclipses, comets, meteor showers .... etc .... I will have to find the results online as well.
-
It was pretty much the same here. Overcast, rain ...

I wish I could have seen it. Cloudy here that night. But the moon seems so eerie and is sitting so strangely in that part of the sky. There are supposed to be 4 more eclipse s just like it. In the next couple of years. It is odd to have so many. I feel the earth is slowly being tilted to its original position. I feel the realms of existence are being restored slowly. It couldn't be done over night.

Looking at the stars last night. The big dipper was a couple of degrees further south. Over the next couple of years it will be even further south I'm sure.

-
^ Thanks so much for the heads-up! As I am always awake prior to sunrise, I will step outside to have a look!
