Yes, The Pillars of Creation and Horsehead nebula have been my top favorite features in nebulas... That's why I put it there John Fogarty is still looking for his hoodoo on the bayou...

He done won that fight... Very excited about the Cassini mission and as it winds down, it getting inside the rings of Saturn!! Cool photo of the Earth... https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap170422.html

Yes... I hope it survives the rings! I can only imagine the pics we will see now. We need to go to Enceladus right away and look for microbial life!!!

You are reading my mind again... Was just thinking of Enceladus last night...those orbs at crop circles were so cool... Never saw that before! Just think they wanted to send one of the Voyagers through the rings... That would have been a problem...

More Juno, just wished there was an aurora on the flyby...maybe it's just Saturn? this is pretty cool... Wonder what those white ovals are? https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap170523.html

NASA announced 219 more Kepler goldilocks planets today!

NASA announced 219 more Kepler goldilocks planets today!
was just watching information about chemical signatures of possible habitable planets vs non habitable planets. Didn't realize how habitation, CO2 has changed our chemical signature! Wow Also, apparently many of these Goldilocks planets are orbiting Red Dwarfs. Seems to me that they are easier to locate when associated with the Red Dwarfs...can't remember why. Very interesting, the transits. Some of them transit quite quickly. Some of the Goldilocks planets are in effect, tidally locked with the same side always facing their star, creating hot and cold areas and perhaps in the sunset area, justtt right!! It's amazing they're all out there... we should be able to find another blue marble without too much radiation...just have to get there...

75% of stars are red dwarfs, is one factor I guess

You're getting sharper! Yes, I caught that after I posted it too! 219 exoplanets and 10 in the ZONE!

Did you hear about that new heavy duty probe NASA is sending to the Sun? Michio talks about it here... http://mkaku.org/

Yes, I had heard of it. Haven't been able to find a photo of the Sun and its huge hole since about 2016. Too bad it's going to take so long to get there! That hole is a doozy. Got a chance today to go on a tour of a type of mock up of the ISS. Was checking out the crops they were growing and a live feed from the ISS! Had someone explain how complex routine involved just getting plants to grow in the absence of gravity.

Triplets Love Paul:
Did anyone check out Venus and the moon this evening? About thirty minutes after sunset, I walked outside to have a look at the alluring indigo night sky. There they were, a heavenly sight to behold, Venus shimmering like a brilliant diamond just below a luminous waxing crescent moon - stunningly beautiful!!! Sooooo inspiring!!!
Here's an APOD, Manhattan Strawberry Moonrise on June 9th, you may like Anita! https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/image/1706/SHonda_86072jsm.jpg
