Was thinking about that ...don't they gave any centrifugal force area on the ISS?! Really loved the centrifugal force room in The Martian and the rotation of the ship in 2001 and Interstellar!! Stayed up late and watched Soyez leave the ISS. Then saw them pulling the astronauts out of the capsule in Kazakhstan ! That was so cool! Gravity must seem very weighty when you land!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3471375/Scott-Kelly-posts-stunning-picture-sunrise-space-prepares-return-Earth-record-breaking-year-space.html Finally saw the documentary on Telescopes on demand, that was sooooo excellent, going to watch it again ! Amazing about having to deploy everything on the James Webb, so fast before it freezes?!

On the sun time lapse, at the 1:02 point, it almost looks like an ominous face
We already have the man in the Moon. Now we have the woman in the Sun.

Whatever the exercise program, it seems to be working. He comes down the steps pretty well here!
He made an interesting comment when the Soyez had docked with the ISS. He said that he can smell Space when they open the hatches between the 2 modules. He said that it smells like burning metal. Space smells like burning metal! My first thought was that it was actually residule exhaust from the rockets that he was smelling, but now I have a more Quantum level idea of what it is. -

That is quite a comment about space smelling like burning metal! When I first read it, I was thinking for sure it must be due to the 5500-6300 °F it burns at...then wondering the metal they use on the space ships! I wondering when he made that remark, was it after he recently repositioned the Souez to another dock, on the ISS? It made me think of the smell of burning wood, when walking into a campsite, with a burning fire. Going to have to read up on this... What is your quantum level idea? Theoretically, wouldn't the space be empty of molecules, pretty much. Then, how could there be enough molucules for him to smell? Going to read up on this
Burning... Hmmm

I watched the show again. It was actually the Japanese supply ship that had just docked when he made that comment, "Space kinda' smells like burning metal...if you can imagine that." I am really thinking now that it is likely to be rocket exhaust that he's smelling. My quantum thoughts were that, it could be the smell of the aether aka zero point energy field, but I'm still working on how that could be possible. I also saw one way that they exercise is to wear a belt with elastic cords tethering them to the wall/floor as they jog on a tread mill. I guess the feet and legs would at least experience some kind of pressure that way. He also said that it is interesting how the body seemed to remember micro-gravity when he first got back to the ISS after 4 years.

Like riding a space bicycle...
It would be interesting to find someone else's thoughts on the smell of Space. Just a wild random thought...do you know how your furnace smells when you turn it on for the first time of the season? Kinda burning of dust and electrical??? Perhaps when he goes out on the thether for their space truckin, fix something events, the heater in those space suits and the cold of space...that must have a bit of a burning smell too?! I wonder how you can ask an astronaut how space smells to them?! Hmmmm I bet they've not been asked that one many times!

Scott is doing a Year in Space, the Year After series on Twitter and maybe on you tubes? Interesting that they all wanted to get into large amounts of water after their trip! I saw the video of him jumping into a pool right after he got home.

People cheering a total eclipse at the end. Love the diamond ring effect!

I so wanted to go see this! Looked into booking it, but couldn't get the time off! I recently found a photo of myself and my neighbors during a total eclipse of the sun, years ago. We had one of those boxes, you put over your head, with the pin hole in the back and the white paper inside the front, to watch the eclipse... Seems like yesterday. Still have the pea coat
Here's some nice photos, suitable for framing

Comet alert!!! Heard last night that there is a comet due to pass us on Monday and will be followed by another one that will come closer than any other comet has in 250 years.

What is with all these comets coming so close
at least we're seeing them days out... One is in the same orbit as another larger one, possibly breaking off of it. As long as they stay millions of miles away, I'm fine with it
