Well, you know why I've not been here for ..............ages. But I'm back now as the night time surveys have finally finished for the season. I can breathe a bit now For those that are interested: located two major bat roosts of local significance to Sussex, which is great news because they will be protected now from development. These were maternity roosts and one had at least 200 bats present! Lots of other bats found in the region, including Natterer's bat and an unconfirmed Whiskered bat. It's been very, very busy and estimate that I have done at least 30 bat surveys (probably more although I haven't actually counted these up yet) Also successfully stopped a development which would have resulted in the loss of a bat roost. Follow us on Twitter or check out our website: www.sussexecology.co.uk Breathe But found no more men coming out of their caravans in their underpants in the middle of the night -..... what a shame! That was probably the highlight of my night work this year! ops: Oh boy, I've probably missed a lot so I will have to have a read through the threads to see what I've missed. Catch up with all you boardies later. PS: I've got no excuse now for not coming here :
