The university is staying tight-lipped about the identity of the musician, but a clue may have been hidden in a press release. In an alert sent to the media Monday morning, details were sent in a document that included the name ?McCartney.? Ohio State President Dr. Michael Drake will make the official announcement at the university's student welcome event this afternoon at Nationwide Arena. The 73-year-old former Beatle last visited the Buckeye State in August 2011 for his On The Run Tour in Cincinnati. However, McCartney hasn?t visited Columbus in 10 years. His last stop was in 2005 for the U.S. Tour at the Value City Arena at The Schottenstein Center . That show was completely sold out with 15,000 attendees and grossing more than $1.9 million. The two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee is currently wrapping his Out There! Tour, which kicked off in May 2013 with 13 legs, for a total of 86 shows across four continents. McCartney?s official website has concert dates scheduled through October on the tour. The most recent date added was last week for a show in Toronto, Canada on October 17. His website mentions that McCartney is ?no stranger to selling out major outdoor stadiums.? Ticket information and availability has not been announced thus far.

I got an e-mail earlier from PM Examimer about this. Came over to check here and it was up. Have a friend in OH so may do this show. Still waiting for Tampa or another FL city to be announced since I'll be there in Oct. and Nov.. Might be wishful thinking...but I think it's coming!

I don't think any other shows are going to be added. I think this is it for the fall.
