As dramatic and close as it could be! Thumbs up to both teams! GREAT GAME!!!

Was a great game! Parade on Friday! Here's is someone's 81 year old grandfather watching the end of the game...
-
My brother texted me last night and said that he drank a Hamms beer remembering our Dad... (he passed away in the mid 90's)...while watching The World Series game 7. We used to get together with our other 2 brothers, and watch Cub's games at his house at times. He drank Hamms beer and had an operable motion Hamms beer sign. He was in the Navy during WWII ...and did not like Donald Trump btw. Does anyone remember all of the old cool Hamms commercials?
-
I remember some Hamm's commercials but not with baseball. For the Cubs it was usually Bud. In fact they showed an old commercial this morning. It's with Harrey Caray.

I am probably in a minority about the Trade deadline in baseball. I don't like it. It used to be that a team would try in June and July - if they were 8 to 10 Games out of first place in the Division - you played strong - there was time and a chance to get hot and Pull it off.... Now they consider themselves a buyer or seller in late June or July.... Even if they are only 6 games out. The team behind basically gives up And dumps players. With a few Months to go. Or a team trades or buys a player to fill a need. So much For gel time. For trying and being the Team that defied the odds.... Not even trying and carrying around the attitude of just missed - we as a Team tasted what it is like to win together - we know each other and Work well to.... Hey what happened to Jones? And just like that the teams have Changed. I liked when they tried and Players gelled into a strongly Competitive team. The team that dumped may just Get prospects - who knows if they Will work out okay or fade away ... Oh well... Just some baseball venting On the Trade deadline ...

Dumping big $ contracts figures into some of these trades. Nevertheless, it has become a fixture of in-season drama, probably of more significance than the draft. Milwaukee Brewers fans (of which I am one) fondly recall the acquisition of C.C. Sebathia and the contributions he made, carrying them into the postseason in 2008. Don Sutton did the same in 1982. That being said, I am also old school and like to see a team stay together. But the first game I ever attended was in 1969 at Wrigley Field and I can only wonder if a late trade might have saved their season, but at the same time a large part of their legend would have been rewritten.
-
I understand wanting to give the team That needed piece ... I also have seen a team lose a player to injury - or even out for the season- And then you think if only they had A good player. It is just the way things are ... I am more disappointed on the giving Up... But do get it for the teams in the race - that are going for it all no matter what the cost - money Or personal/ emotional...
