Doctober!!! Congratulations to Roy Halladay!!! http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20101006&content_id=15455266&vkey=recap&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
I had a feeling we would be hearing from you! That was pretty exciting. I'm watching the Rangers-Rays game and the announcer said the Rays are stunned. I'm not, really. After all, they Rays have been no hit a couple of times. I bet Halladay would like to face them. I have the Rangers going all the way. The NL champ is harder to predict but it could esaily be the Phillies.
That game was indeed pretty exciting!!! Watching Halladay, I truly lost sight of it being a playoff game...LOVED it!!! The Rangers are looking good, Dave! I have a good feeling about them!

My pick of Reds in 5 isn't looking so good, though. (Sorry, Anita, I had to be loyal to my division.) ops:

What kind of talk is this, Dave??? What about loyalty to your fellow boardie??? Who was there with a kind word for you when you were lying in that hospital bed, the Reds or me? Who kept you in their prayers for a speedy recovery hoping you would make it to Paul's concerts, the Reds or me??? You know I'm just teasing you...best of luck to your Reds...[size=7]they're going to need it!
-
Sorry about that, Anita! It's a midwestern (and underdog) thing. "My" Twins are also hoping for a miracle right now!
-
I too am watching that game, the Yankees are my second favorite team.
-
Now that the Yankees have eliminated me from the MLB bracket challenge, I am now offcially a Phillie phanatic, Anita. Honest!
-
Looks like I will have to say it: Congratulations Philadelphia Phillies, National League Division champions! (How was that, Anita?)
-
Perfect, (((Dave)))!!! Now I feel better!!!
-
I have to say that I feel the Phillies may just be unstoppable this year(apologies to the other teams, as to make it to the playoffs is indeed a job well done and hats off!!)

Our George Goode should appreciate this story. BTW, Crosby's company invented the first videotape recorder but it proved impractical.
Bing Crosby often found himself dreaming of the Pittsburgh Pirates, too, even while on vacation in Paris during the 1960 World Series. His zealous support and superstition wound up being a good thing for baseball fans: Found in his wine cellar was film of the deciding Game 7, in which Pirates second baseman Bill Mazeroski hit a game-ending homer to beat the New York Yankees, that was thought to be lost forever. <snip> Crosby couldn't bear to watch the game live, although he did listen by radio while in Paris, so he had hired a company to record the broadcast by kinescope. The early relative of DVR meant that he could go back and watch the 2-hour, 36-minute game later if the Pirates won. The five reels have since been transferred to DVD, and fans will get a chance to view the game during the offseason on the MLB Network. Bob Costas is set to host the special, which will include interviews with former players and other additional programming. "Bing Crosby was away ahead of his time," said Nick Trotta, senior library and licensing manager of Major League Baseball Productions, the sport's archivists. "It's a time capsule."

^ Looking forward to this! Go Phillies!!!
-
Looks like Rollins got a hit tonight - I think it almost made it out to the pitcher's mound
-
He has been struggling...that three-run double in the bottom of the 7th was huge for him! I was thrilled to see it!

Congratulations to the 2010 American League Champions, the Texas Rangers!!!

So will we get the matchup of Halliday vs Lee? That would be one (or 2) for the ages.
