Kahlessa:
Well I work in a bookstore and we keep several of Chesterson's books in stock.
Sounds like a good bookstore. I've generally found Chesterton's books a little difficult to find which, again, is a shame. He should be exposed to many more people... a great thinker.

I work at a large Barnes & Noble and we have a great selection. The only problem is that it's an insidious place to have an employee discount. I should be wearing a sign saying "Will work for books". I think it was the philosopher Erasmus who said: "When I have money, I buy books. If there's any left, I buy food and clothes."

The Patti Boyd book...
I notice she got her book out before Eric Clapton's. I haven't read either though I've heard that their accounts of their romance and marriage jibe with each others.

Harry Potter 7
I?ve read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows twice already. There?s so much to it that I think it takes a few readings to totally absorb. The first time I read it I didn?t leave the house and I avoided all media, including my email. I didn?t want to risk anyone ruining it for me.
I am in the middle of the book....

i finished harry potter 7 two days after it was released in the u.s. so since then i haven't really read anything....unless you count online text

Squandered Victory: The American Occupation and the Bungled Effort to Bring Democracy to Iraq by Larry Diamond. The author is a Stanford University professor and democracy expert who was personally asked by Condoleezza Rice to serve as an advisor to the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq. Diamond opposed going to war with Iraq, but "supported building the peace." This book is his inside examination of what went wrong in Iraq.

Plato - The Collected Dialogues Of Plato
Chesterson and Plato....you have good taste, Matthew!
Thank you very much, Kahlessa. Nice to see another person familiar with Chesterton. He is criminally underrated, which is a shame.
Chesterton............Father Brown stories????/ I love detective stories and have REALLY tried to like him, but I just can't. I love Sherlock Holmes!!!!!!!!!!!!! Right now I am reading BEYOND THE WHITEHOUSE Jimmy Carter.

I?m reading the Star Trek: Next Generation novel Before Dishonor by Peter David. It takes place after the crew of the starship Voyager returned home and it involves Seven of Nine and the Borg. I?m a huge Star Trek fan plus I love anything Peter David writes. His Star Trek: New Frontier series is fantastic!
-
I'm reading Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. It's for school. It's a good book and has a lot of description and detail in the book, so it can get boring at times but it also makes the book better in some places.

Just finished Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov and it was the single most amazing thing I've ever read. His prose style is a bit hard to understand, but extremely beautiful - the way he describes the feelings of love are amazing. So now I'm reading Pale Fire by Nabokov....I plan on reading the rest of his books!

Jane Eyre~Charlotte Bronte not that I haven't read it before.
last night 12/30 Masterpiece Theatre in US showed part 1 of a new Jane Eyre adaptation, it was great!. It is in 2 parts and the second is next Sunday. No matter how many times I read it or how many adaptations I see it is always chilling to me.
