Brain Wash ~ Dr. David Perlmutter
One of the things that caught my eye was the reference to eating one plant based meal a day. It also is about detoxing your mind in todays environment, to consciously rewire our brains for more connection, compassion and clearer thinking in todays negative environment.

Real educational - TV Guide! Oh, and Beatlefan magazine!
-
Bloomberg, A Billionaire's Ambition ~ Chris McNickle
Looks good, starting to think he may be the best candidate. He was a great Mayor for NYC. Did a great job reducing deaths by guns. Lowest in the nation

Just finished the New York Times #1 best seller, "Profiles in Corruption". Really opens the book on our so called 'progressive' Democrats. Our very rich, very capitalistic 'progressive' Democrats.
-
I just started reading "Hidden Figures" by Margot Lee Shetterly, the book on which the movie of a few years ago was based. It's fascinating.
-
Hidden Figures was such a great movie! Sounds like the book is even better Bruce. Think I might get it. The bias against women and people of color at that time was so much worse than today.
No One is Too Small To Make a Difference ~ Greta Thunberg named TIME magazine Person of the Year
-
Just finished The Devil's Witch and The Devil's Slave. Part of a historical fiction trilogy by Tracy Borman set in James I's reign. I don't recommend them. I had previously read her historical book Henry VIII and The Men Who Made Him and it was very well researched and well written. She's much better at writing history than fiction, imo.

One step for man...and one of the first steps for black women! God Bless her for the determination required.

National Parks of America ~ James Murfin
Taking a beautiful picture break from political books

I am always working my way through several books at once, usually without losing the thread. At the moment they include the Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens, The Citadel by A.J.Cronin (the creator of Dr. Finlay's Casebook), Andrew Lloyd Webber's autobiography and a book on the great band 10cc.

I'm reading Crown of Thistles. It's about the Stuarts in Scotland and the Tudors in England. Linda Porter weaves what the two families are doing simultaneously. I highly recommend it for the background of the royal families in Scotland/England. Mary Queen of Scots was also a Tudor, a fact often downplayed by biographers.

The Shock Doctrine,
The Rise of Disastet Capitalism ~ Naomi Klein
-
I just finished Harry and Meghan: The Real Story by Lady Colin Campbell. I think Meghan is a very good actress and enjoyed her in Suits. Of course, I would have never known about her or the show had it not been for her relatioship with Harry, which is one of the author's main points. There is a lot of fluff, so only serious Royal watchers would probably be able to get through it.
-
The Room Where it Happened ~ Bolton, Reckless ~ Chrisse Hynde, Too Much & Never Enough How My Family Created The World's Most Dangerous Man ~ Mary Trump, 3 Minute Stephen Hawking ~Parsons & Dixon
-
Surviving Autocracy by Masha Gessen, Disloyal by Michael Cohen and my sister who I'm still helping her move...gave me The Beatles: A Private View by Robert Freeman, a photographer who took the photo on 5 album covers and also traveled with the Beatles between 1963-1966. Many beautiful iconic photos in this beautiful coffee table book.

Happy as a Dane by Malene Rydahl
-
A Promised Land ~ Barack Obama
-
"Caste" by Isabel Wilkerson -- a new and interesting angle on America's ongoing struggle with race and roles in society. (Her prior book, "The Warmth of Other Suns, was outstanding)
-
Clanlands by Sam Heughan & Graham McTavish (they play Jamie Fraser & Dougal Mackenzie on the show Outlander) The book is them taking turns telling about this road trip they took over northern Scotland (the Highlands) It is so funny!
If you get STARZ, they will have a series based on the book, called Men In Kilts. Starts Feb. 14th at 9pm.
