I'm reading "The Stand" by Stephen King. I've been on a King kick ever since I completed his "Dark Tower" series last year. The Stand is supposed to be one of his best horror stories, and so far its quite twisted (definitely a hypochondriac's worst nightmare ). Joe

Kahlessa:
I finished Tai-Pan and am now reading Noble House by James Clavell. I prefer to read books in hardcover and I have Noble House in hardcover. But it's so big--1,206 pages--that the hardcover is very awkward and heavy to handle. Plus I love to read in bed while lying on my back. I was afraid if I dropped this book, it would crush my skull (or at least break my nose). So I invested in a paperback copy. When people say "some books are dangerous", they have no idea just how right they are sometimes.
I also have Noble House in paper back. I may have let it lightly drop. Which I could not risk with a Hardcover.

Still plugging away at "You Shoulda Been There"
I'm still plugging away at Noble House. Some books read faster than others. James Clavell's novels usually read quickly for me, but Noble House is much denser than the others. Worth the struggle though.

I' managed to get thru 2 more chapters of "You Shoulda Been There" last nite. True, some books are fast reads & others slower. Sometimes a really good one can end way too fast.
-
Someone once asked me (concerning another book), "How can you stand to read such a long book?" I said, "If you're enjoying the journey, then you don't mind the duration."

Just abot finished reading Sins Of Innocence by Jean Stone.

I finally finished Noble House (excellent book, if a bit long), and am now reading The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede. The series consists of four novels: 1. Dealing with Dragons 2. Searching for Dragons 3. Calling on Dragons 4. Talking to Dragons It's a teen fantasy series, but I know several adults who have really enjoyed it. The books have good adventure and wonderful humor. I read them again about every other year.

just finished brave new world, wondering if i could find a book as impressive as that.
