How Does Your Garden Grow?
-
I wonder if yours was the neighbor's doing or the maintenance guy. Evergreens won't grow back like they once were. Sorry for you.

The guy on one side cut a tree down behind our shed (but left the stump). We had been out of town. A few days later I saw him back there & I ran out & said "don't cut down any more of my trees". He claimed it was on his property. : Now we have put up the fence for the dog & guess what? The stump is inside the fence! His property...yeah right.
In your case I think A fence = Great Idea God only knows, he might get to thinking your dog was his, or who know what else! How sad for you! Hope they move and you get nicer neighbors! You too! They didn't even talk to you?
Fan4-45years:
Yesterday our neighbor hired someone to clear out the brush in her backyard. I noticed a big hole where the evergreen tree was supposed to be. Her tree guy had reached over and cut off the limbs of our tree on one whole side--the side that made the hedge between our houses so we both had privacy. She has NEVER asked us to cut it back or even breathed a word that she didn't want our limbs coming over to her yard (they grow up, not out). People never cease to amaze me.
Hope you get new neighbors soon! My neighbor has a tree, that if I cut all the branches off in my yard, there would just be a tree trunk! She already told me to cut it down if it bothered me, I'll only do it if I get a decent fence. I'm lucky she's so nice.

I can't even tell you how many things I have done for this neighbor. So disappointed.

Maybe it actually was the gardener's idea. I hope so.

I don't know. She was standing out there last night when I was taking pictures. She was talking to Jethro (not his real name), the "tree man." She didn't say anything to me. I thought we were friends. Very sad.

it grows in laces
-
laces?

I just tried to make a silly image. Nonsensical. Did you see it in your mind? My garden... grows in laces.
-
I visualized vines growing up a trellis.
-
Right.
-
Pulled & lopped at more weeds today. Can't wait to plant fall bulbs.
-
Pine bark beetles have infested two trees in the back yard.
-
Street gutters still have water from Sunday flood. Can't wait for mosquitoes to hatch.
-
Bulbs? When to plant those squirrel morsels....hmmmmm
-
^ oh don't get me started on squirrels. Some are coming around here eating my neighbors peaches & bringing into my yard & dropping them. My dog now goes right back to the fence under the tree looking for peach pitts.

During bulb planting week, I get big bags of shelled peanuts, and like Hansel and Gretel, I leave a path leading the squirrels down to the end of the street, where there's the peanut reward!! Maybe they'll decide to move there if I do this often enough! Don't know how the squirrels are in this neighborhood yet...they all love the peanuts tho... Then, when I plant the bulbs, I mix black pepper, cayenne pepper and chili flakes along with bulb bone meal. I put the bone meal/pepper mix, under the bulb, then on top of the bulb too! It seems to work pretty well to keep the squirrels away, probably the scent...

^ haha...good ideas!
