How Does Your Garden Grow?

Have friends who have been giving me homegrown tomatoes and farmer's market sweet corn. Big ears $5.oo a dozen...yum yum yum
My mouth is watering. Love me a tomato sandwich!
I've had so many tomatoes this year. I can't keep up with them...or the garden. I froze a bunch to make chili at a later date. And I still have enough to have at least one every day. I bet I had so many because of the HOT weather.

Wow. Incredible. Do you just wash then cut them up and put in freezer plastic bags?

I bet I have 10 containers that have 10-14 tomatoes in each. I was really getting bombarded. And there are only 12 plants. To freeze them I just parboiled a little bit so I was able to skin them & then I cut up & dropped into containers. But you don't really need to skin them because when they are cooked the skins will roll up & you can pick out.

I admire you for doing that. You rock.

HA...you should see the weeds in the garden though. I just don't know what the heck to do with it all. I don't want to attempt the roto tiller. I guess I'll leave it till the spring. My sister made chicken paprikash (sp?) with some of the tomatoes & it was really good.

Waiting for mums to bloom. Waiting for weather to cool down again so we can get rid of pesky wild honeysuckles.

These aren't fragrant at all. If they were, I'd transplant them where they wouldn't choke out our other plants. Our kid planted some purple/yellow & orange mums last week. The good thing about the rain is that they're really blooming quickly.

Funny, I saw some in England that weren't fragrant too. This smell of the fragrant ones, is one of the best smells ever!!

Thanks...Sure...did you want me to bring the weeds too? Thanks, oobu! Mums are pretty!
-
no thanks I have enough weeds.
-
^^ Those mums made me happy Steve. Thanks for the smile. I am sure they will brighten other people's day as well.
-
Yes, Kittay. Love the mums~! Thanks Steven!

The mums our kid gave us last year started coming back in late Sept. Right now they've got tons of buds on them but not blooming yet. Our kid also planted some purple mums with yellow centers & some orange mums this year. And some of our roses are still blooming.

My hydrangea is still blooming new blooms. I like the color in its new location, too. They are muted pink with dark pink accents. Looks antiqued. Before, it bloomed a beautiful dark purple, but I had to move it because the Rose of Sharon and Pussy Willow Tree were creating too much shade for it to bloom there.

^ That hydrangea sounds beautiful!!! Just bought a bunch of bulbs!!! They were selling bulbs in a pouch that contained bulb food and I'm assuming, will keep them more animal proof. Going to put some bulbs in containers and leave them in the garage, they should be nice for Spring.
