Many years ago there was some sort of court case or controversy surrounding a song. A boy or man committed a crime due to the suggestive lyrics. (I forget whether it was murder or suicide) Does anyone remember that?

Found it! Apparently there were a few cases. Ozzy Osborne was sued back in 1985 because a teenager committed suicide after listening to Ozzy's "Suicide Solution" The case was thrown out. Then Slayer was sued twice by the parents of a fifteen year old girl who was raped and murdered by "three acquaintances" in 1996. The parents claimed Slayer songs "Dead Skin Mask" and "Postmortem" provided detailed instructions on how to kill their daughter. http://www.nme.com/blogs/nme-blogs/why-do-metal-bands-always-get-blamed-for-violence-in-america

Any song can influence a young mind i think so could movies ect. I never liked my kids listening to Marilyn Masnon because of the sexual content. I didn't want them thinking king that way.

I don't think you should blame any writer. Its best to at least teach your kids something about the kinds of songs or books that are written and what you expected of them in response to what they read or hear. I liked for mine to tell me what they heard in lyrics.

When I first saw the thread title...I thought it had something to do with..."Why Don't We Do It In The Road?"

                    Peace On Earth To Everyone

                    Peace On Earth Today Someday

                    As Love And Understanding Grow

Peace Will Come To Stay...Some Day

Inner and Outer Peace... to US ALL!!!

I take those lyrics quite seriously! Actually I read paul wrote that when he saw monkeys in India doing it in the road. Like why not.

If songs could make people do things they would not otherwise do, "Give Peace a Chance" would be more popular.
