Someone in an earlier post said to vote --- for how things are going in your area ... in my area we have high unemployment (that has been going on since 2009) ..... all starting in 2009: above the national average in unemployment high foreclosures houses underwater high bankruptcy higher debts emergency managers for cities, schools, local government...
"Starting" in 2009? Starting???????????? All of the above are a continuance of the economic collapse of 2008.
It boggles the mind
It really does - In 2008 we had 35% or more people working at my company ... then came pay cuts - and furloughs (did that ever hurt) so laugh all you want ..... it hit hard in 2009

Mitt Romney is not President ... Obama cannot blame him for America's problems ... even though this ad trys to make the case. The time has long since past when America should blame the current President for her problems and No One Else! Yesterday, Obama said America is heading in the right direction --- NOT With unemployment in excess of 8% for the 41st month. If discouraged workers are included in the calculation (the U6 unemployment rate) it skyrockets to 15% Headed in the right direction (under his guidance) NO WAY And that brings up honesty in Obama's ads, The Washington Post awarded the President with 4 Pinocchios (big lies) in reference to attack ads against Romney. btw - regarding exportation of jobs the President is so proud of "saving" GM, which also happens to export approximately 70% or more of its work to other countries Perhaps there is a truism found in the President's words - America should head to the right for the next election and leave the sitting President Left Behind
Tell me why I should vote for Romney. How will it benefit me to support him?
I do not post in this thread with the slighest of hope that I (personally) might be able to change anyones mind. There are too many other priorities in life much more important (to me) than posting and/or political debates - I chose instead to spend the bulk of my "free time" on them. If anyone is truly not sure - confused - divided in thought, some of the articles I post may help. One can always email/pm me for an off the board question or response. Keeping it simple, regarding Obama - I lost hope in him for any complete, positive change he might make - a long time ago
Didn't answer the question andy...another dodge mittens is the perfect candidate for you He can't answer a straight question either

If it hit hard in 2009 the policies which made it happen started much much earlier. Just as the 2008 crash was started by policies that had been in place for several years. When Clinton left office he left with a budget surplus. That was squandered with tax cuts for the rich and 2 wars that were not paid for. Add an unregulated banking and housing sector and you have the disaster we are still trying to clean up.

I'm not going to change your mind & you are not going to change mind. My posts here are for others, that do not wish to politically post - those who keep their views to themselves - those sitting on a fence - those still waiting on the "promised" Hope & Change - those that are discouraged. And every now & then ... someone pops in and/or pm's me.

I'm of the belief that we can learn things from persons of opposing views every now and then. I also defend the candidates I support -- and substantiate my support with facts and examples. If a person can't explain in clear, direct terms why they support a politician, that's just plain evasiveness and cowardice.

Jobs Report for June: The numbers are out (well, to be released officiallly tomorrow) Over 126,000 jobs added for June, 2012. That makes the 27th consecutive month of private-sector job-growth under this President. If Obama is a Socialist, he really stinks at it.
95,000 jobs.
The trouble with this and any economic news ..... is who is doing the reporting? I checked many sources ..... and it can look great with one source and like crap with another report .... Even CNN money had it look bad (and I thought they were part of the Obama cabinet ) It is tough to find the independent reporting. What I have also noticed is a trend of reporting outstanding numbers of new jobs for the month on page 1 and then one or two weeks later saying the jobs number is not that good .... on page 79 .... Does anybody know a Socialist Government that is successful?
Actually, social democracies (where people choose a more socialist government by democratic means...voting) are the most successful economically and in contentment(happiness). http://www.forbes.com/2009/05/05/world-happiest-places-lifestyle-travel-world-happiest.html generally the countries are in northern Europe and include Denmark, Finland and the Netherlands. So to answer your question yes, there are many successful socialist (social democratic) governments.
yes, that's the best "socialism/capitalism" balance, found specially on Scandinavia and another European countries
I personally don't like heading in the Socialist direction -- I won't vote that way.
I know. Let me doubt about myself... all I know bout Scandinavia is data of studies, media.... lol. I haven't been there... or know someone I trust that can tell me how the things are there anyway. Maybe they're not so great. I don't hand first-hand truth about all that. I haven't traveled the seven seas or so... I'm not the best person to say how the world is. I have met people who has traveled them (the 7 seas lol) and I've found their opinions quite shocking.

It's not surprising that mittens supporters won't defend or substantiate their support for him. There is NOTHING to support. He has not articulated what he will do..and he has flip-flopped on EVERYTHING. He has even refused to release his tax returns as all other presidential candidates have always done....He is obviously HIDING a lot. Probably all the money he has made from outsourcing and offshoring and he also doesn't want to reveal all the MONEY HE HAS IN OFFSHORE ACCOUNTS in the Caymans, Switzerland and the Bahamas. There does seem to be NO REASON why his supporters support him so of course they can't say. Totally amazing ps...come to think of it. His supporters here NEVER talk about the benefits that electing mittens would bring...all they do is diss Obama. Obvious there are no benefits

That worked here in the last elections!. The current president just critized the past one but without proposing a thing. And he won by a landslide. Why not there? It looks as the same strategy. Well, he didn't say what he will do but he said some things he will NOT do if winning. But as he has said recently, after winning, "I'm going to do things I said I will not do". Hey, it's true!. They did that tactics, and they won the elections by a landslide. : (If you think Spanish and USA elections are very very different think that Zapatero, the past president won with the slogan "Podemos" ("We Can"). And some months later Obama won with the slogan "Yes, We Can".)

You forgot to mention Bush's unpaid-for Medicare Part D and Bush's unpaid-for prescription drug bill that not only added nearly a $1 trillion to the U.S. deficit... ...but the Congressional Budget Office -- a bi-partisan, conservative entity -- warned the Republicans that those would add hundreds of billions to the deficit. I'm still trying to figure out why the phrase "fiscal restraint" is associated with Repubclicans when they govern so recklessly. And after a good year of participating in this thread, I have yet to be proved wrong.
-
I'll add this: It is not enough to only re-elect Obama. He needs a Congress that will work with him. His Jobs Bill should've been passed months ago. It is incredible that these Republican Congress-people have the nerve to collect a paycheck... ...that you and I pay for.

Maybe if you hear it from your guy, it'll make a little more sense: Gov. Romney: It's ?Silly? to Expect Economy to Turn Around Overnight In our latest find from the Massachusetts archives, Mitt Romney responds to a question about lackluster job growth during his tenure as governor: ?If you are going to suggest to me that somehow the day I got elected, somehow jobs should have immediately turned around, well, that would be silly.? http://www.americanbridgepac.org/2012/07/wire/gov-romney-its-silly-to-expect-economy-to-turn-around-overnight/

Other funny thing is how every president blames the one before. If you want to get "to the cause of why things are this way now", you will get nowhere.... You can go back to Bush... or to the 70s... or the World War 2, or the Great Depression and so back in time forever to before the apes walked the Earth... no matter the cause you will call "the cause of it", that thing was caused by other things and so on... Finding and learning all this can be great for education, curiosity, whiling away the time... but if it's only for deciding your vote, just one vote out of hundred millions is not worth so much effort, one can't change much the result... It's not like a decision where you are one in a group of five or four...
