21st Century Paul:
If somebody told me 5 years ago than today the USA would be trying to create a public health service and Europe would be trying to distroy theirs, I would have said something like... "Men, are you nuts? The Americans hate anything that sounds like "social" or socialism... they would think they're becoming the new USSR or sort of Cuba, it just can't happen. Europe... well, yes, that can happen cause we'll think we are becoming the new USA... ..."
Unfortunately Oliver the new US health care law is not a public health service. Nothing like what is found in most European countries sadly. It's a capitalist system that requires everyone who can afford it to buy private insurance...so the insurance companies are happy. Where it differs from what we had ...which was nothing is that if people can't afford to buy private insurance than the government will subsidize them to get them into the system. What should help to bring costs down is that there are requirements on insurance companies to spend most of the money they receive from premiums and spend it on patient care. And there is an emphasis on prevention, cost control and efficiency. Also important insurance companies have to insure people with pre existing conditions and can't drop people if they get sick or are expensive to treat. So the mandate gives insurance companies a lot of new customers to offset the new requirements.

(cue "Dragnet" music) Romney listed as Bain CEO on gov?t forms years after he says he quit: report: "Republican candidate Mitt Romney was listed as the chairman and CEO of Bain Capital on certain government documents years after 1999, when he ostensibly left the private equity firm, The Boston Globe reports. Republican candidate Mitt Romney was listed as the chairman and CEO of Bain Capital on certain government documents years after he says he gave up control of the private equity firm, The Boston Globe reported Thursday. Romney has said he left the firm in February 1999 to take charge of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and has repeatedly used that as a defense when asked about bankruptcies and worker layoffs at Bain-controlled companies after that date. The Globe, however, said it found nine SEC filings that describe Romney as running the company after that point. The report said some indicate he had control of five Bain Capital entities formed in January 2002. In addition, the newspaper said Massachusetts disclosure forms indicate that Romney made at least $100,000 as a Bain ?executive? in 2001 and 2002, apart from his investment earnings. They also show he was paid as a Bain executive while he was directing the Olympics, the Globe reported."

You're not Ben Swan by chance are you? If so, I'm sure Obama himself may come knocking on your door to politely ask you to develop some lock jaw and stop with the comments that will undermine his own campaign (on the other hand...Romney a felon???....keep'em coming...despite Obama's best efforts trying to distance himself from these comments from fellow freaktards, they may stick nonetheless...LOL)

It very much is a step towards a more socialistic gov't...when you start telling people how to behave outside the normal realm of common law, it by the very definition of the word is socialism

Without laws you have anarchy. With anarchy you have a loosening of civilization. Civilization is when there is at least a modicum of support to keep the inhabitants at a level where they can at least function. In US our 'health care system' has been a system of exclusion to the extreme where people literally gave their lives because they where not able to participate. People have died early because they could not afford diagnostic tests and could not afford insurance. Meanwhile the insurance companies and many medical providers have kept raising their profits to insure that even more and more would not be able to afford their services. A sick system that has made people sicker Obamacare is here. It will stay here. Get over your love of seeing people die because they are poor

What's "the normal realm of common law"? Is it tradition?

Romney's numbers are gonna plummet sooner rather than later. Some are even predicting an eleventh-hour Republican nominee replacement. What key was he singing in, anyway? H?

believe it or not they're almost singing in the same key Romney in A and Obama in A flat. You're free to decide... only between A and A flat... "I couldn't be a politician, I would sing every speech" Freddie Mercury I would imagine like "And these are the new taxes, hey heyyyy, oh yeah c'mon" Politicians could start doing it soon Musicians are politicians too, only they don't force anyone to anything... This is one of the best Freddie's speeches

STUNNING, STUNNING mittens in CBS interview on Friday contradicted his 2002 Sworn Testimony Here tis:
And I left Bain in February of 1999. People can point out how - I was in Salt Lake City for three straight years. I don't recall even coming back once to go to a Bain or management meeting. We were, I was out there running the Olympics and it was a full time job, I can tell you that.
So he never went to any meetings. But in 2002, under oath, he said otherwise. (links below)
Romney has consistently insisted that he was too busy organizing the 2002 Winter Olympics to take part in Bain business between 1999 and that event. But in the testimony, which was provided to The Huffington Post, Romney noted that he regularly traveled back to Massachusetts. "[T]here were a number of social trips and business trips that brought me back to Massachusetts, board meetings, Thanksgiving and so forth," he said. Romney's sworn testimony was given as part of a hearing to determine whether he had sufficient residency status in Massachusetts to run for governor. Romney testified that he "remained on the board of the Staples Corporation and Marriott International, the LifeLike Corporation" at the time. Yet in the Aug. 12, 2011, federal disclosure form filed as part of his presidential bid, he said, "Mr. Romney retired from Bain Capital on February 11, 1999 to head the Salt Lake Organizing Committee. Since February 11, 1999, Mr. Romney has not had any active role with any Bain Capital entity and has not been involved in the operations of any Bain Capital entity in any way." Bain, a private equity firm, held a stake in the LifeLike Co. until the end of 2001, including during the period in which Romney claimed to have no business involvement with Bain entities. Bain had heavily invested in LifeLike, a company that Romney identified personally as an opportunity, in 1996 and sold its shares in late 2001. His involvement with LifeLike contradicts his assertion that he had no involvement with Bain business. His testimony is supported by his 2001 Massachusetts State Ethics Commission filing, in which he lists himself as a member of LifeLike's board.
Furthermore in his federal disclosure form (above) he testified that he retired from Bain in February of 1999. Yet in Friday's he said he retired in 2002.
I left the business and went off to run the Olympics, did that full time and after three years, when the Olympics were over, we arranged my departure officially from a retirement standpoint.
Dang, this guys talks out of both sides of his mouth..he's a pathological liar "You're So Bain"
