Life is very ironic, what goes around comes around. Full circle, as Paul says. Can you imagine that John Punch having a vision and saying "If you make me your slave then my 11th son will rule over your nation"

No job, no house, no gas, no food, no problem - Obama2012 http://yfrog.com/z/gy85snej
I know that in your mind you think you have made a point. Good, Vera.
Do you mean that you do not have any point of view :
What i mean is what I say.
And I likewise ...
Well... I have a job. I have a house. I usually purchase gasoline on my way to that very job. And my problems are minimal. And you?
I can't say that I'm better of than I was 4 years ago ... And I believe that's true for many more than a few ... Throwing newly minted money at financial problems does not make them go away as with POTUS' stimulus. Each and every time it de-values our currency. The purchase power goes down. It's an dangerous, inflationary move. Throwing taxpayer funds at a whole assortment of "green companies" many of which went belly-up. But, the VIP's went away with pockets full of cash - taxpayer cash. Failed stimulus as far as the public is concerned ... Needless to say private investors in those same companies lost big time But maybe it was Obama's way of rewarding insiders at the expense of the average American ...
So, how will Romney's plan be different/better? What IS his plan anyway?
The idea is simple - investment in companies should be made privately with investor monies. The government should not be in the "investment business" with taxpayer dollars. Restrained stimulus might be needed at times. But one can hardly call the POTUS's Stimulus "restrained" or "cautious". Here's a few from the Obama hit list - I'm sure there are more . Solyndra (bankruptcy) September 2011 The Beacon (bankruptcy) October 2011 EveryGreen Solar - filed for chapter 11 reorganization with the intent of selling its assets (August 2011) A123 systems - laid off 125 employees since receiving $390 million in government subsidies, but is still handing out big pay raises to company executives. SpectraWatt - received a $500,000 grant (June 2009). Filed for bankruptcy August 2011. Abound Solar (bankruptcy) June 2012

ok andy...I'll try to make this as simple as I can so that perhaps even you will be able to understand. This is business 101...put on your thinking cap The Chinese government is giving mega incentives to green energy and in particular solar manufacturers because they want to be the leaders in green energy manufacturing (got that : prob. already lost you). So China is already way ahead of us in green manufacturing because we have nutcases in the US who don't believe in green energy. sound familiar : : look in the mirror So Obama Administration doesn't like this...they want to be #1 and we need the jobs So they give incentives to US companies to build solar panels etc. (following : ) But the Chinese can afford to make their solar panels much cheaper than we can(slave labor etc.)..so the business here import China's cheap panels (just as we have outsourcing everything else to them..Thanks mittens :! And the people buy the cheaper China panels. So our companies struggle because of the Chinese competition (Have I lost you yet : ) So Obama doesn't like this so he applies a tariff to Chinese solar panels to help our struggling manufactures. http://articles.latimes.com/2012/may/18/business/la-fi-china-solar-dumping-20120518 So the new tariffs should help our US companies better compete with China...but it's very difficult because China understands that you have to give incentive to reap success...did you get this : : : ps...plz go back to school or something..it's really tedious to have people who don't have a basic understanding of how anything works

China - what happened to Obama jobs for Americans : Was that not what all the Obama Admin. stimulus to U.S. companies (green included) was all about (a Biden 3 letter word) "JOBS" for Americans? Don't be wishy washy - oh course it was The Keystone Pipeline - with the Obamann snub of our northern neighbors, China has now filled the gap with a $15+ billion dollar offer. Of course pipeline will now not come to or through America. Brazil now will do the off shore drilling and USA will do the buying. Sounds like we'll be doing buying oil from China as well. And now more American jobs than ever are lost. Jobs from the pipeline. And other related jobs. We'll be bound to purchase oil from China National Offshore Oil Corp. thanks to Obama and his snub of both Canada & ready to work Americans. Preferring China & Brazil to America & Americans ... The Outsourcer In Chief - a well deserved title for our current President And what will be the long term reaction of oil prices : It will not remain relatively cheap ...

I'm looking at the bigger picture: This only confirms that your and my President wants the United States to be a country that works for everybody. He clearly works within this country's capitalist structure. Government assistance (tax credits for businesses that keep jobs on American soil, for example) is a key component to maintaining a middle-class...which strengthens the overall economy. Yes, the situation in China is a mess. But Obama is working with the system in its current structure. Which is why he embraced Romneycare. A reasonable solution that keeps insurance companies (greedy b-stards) in business, while covering the uninsured.

Don't worry about me after the election I'll party like it's 1999 No things aren't as simple as you think....You get insulted because you can't answer the simple question as to why you will vote republican...How will voting republican help you? Another question you can't answer is... What have the republicans done in modern times to help the US or the majority of it's people? You and your buddies can't defend why you vote the way you do,,,,And with your voting you have been responsible for just about destroying the US and the world and hurting lots of people. It's not a joke I have a lot of fun but I'm particular about people. To me you're ignorance is dangerous and that's not funny to me.

If something's funny, most people will laugh at it. I'll laugh at a Bill Clinton BJ joke just as easily as I will a George W. Bush stupid joke. Politics aren't the issue. The problem is that it's hard to find a joke about the president that isn't simply a repackaging of hateful, racist humor. And it's not that race should be an untouchable topic. There have been plenty of smart, funny jokes made on the subject. What becomes problematic, though, is that many people confuse making a joke about racism with making a racist joke, and this blurred line has consequences. Admittedly, this leads some skittish liberals from refraining to have any semblance of a sense of humor about the president. But far more often, it puts some conservatives under the mistaken impression that they can have carte blanche in making ANY joke about the president. An example of a smart joke that pokes fun at racism: Greg Giraldo commenting that John McCain looked so frustrated down the stretch in 2008 that "he came this close to saying, 'He's black!.'" It's funny because it mocks the fact that despite all the progress, race relations in the U.S. at the present are checkered enough that many Americans weren't convinced that a white candidate could ultimately be defeated by a black candidate, and that despite the writing on the wall, in the back of McCain's (and doubtlessly many of his supporters') mind, this thought probably floated around. In essence, it's an updated version of the SNL bit about Dukakis and Bush Sr. and the eternal "I can't believe I'm losing to this guy" line. An example of a racist joke is Laura Ingraham's ghostwriting a passage from Michelle Obama's "diary" in which she describes the First Lady eating baby-back ribs for almost every meal. I realize that this particular joke is at the expense of the president's wife, but it provides a clear example of the dichotomy between the two types of humor. Giraldo's joke mocks poor race relations; though it highlights an unfortunate issue, it ultimately undermines it - McCain's hope that voters might opt for the more familiar white candidate ultimately has more to do with desperation than racism. Ingraham's mocks a black woman with offensive stereotypes. That she does it in the guise of a tongue-in-cheek "diary" makes no difference; it's ultimately a white woman (who, it should be noted, in this case has strong philosophical differences with the Obamas) inhabiting the role of a black woman, choosing to characterize herself with racist tendencies. Had Ingraham chose to inhabit the role with something like the First Lady being clearly annoyed by writing 'We've been in the White House over two years, and the chef still makes me ribs every single day for lunch,' that might be more acceptable, as it acknowledges the persistent existence of stereotypes, but does so in a way that skewers the stereotypes, not in a way that uses them to define someone. Ultimately, I think it should be clear that the joke is ultimately on the stereotype, not the race of people. (We can get into a whole other area in which a comedian inhabits an absurdist persona to the point that the "character" genuinely espouses racist views, but is shown to have such a distorted perception of reality that the clear implication is that such views are off-base - a prime example of this would be Sarah Silverman, whose rude, naive, out-of-touch stage persona allows her to get away with all manner of offensive jokes that, out of the context of her act, wouldn't be funny at all.) Needless to say, it's a tricky issue. But going back to your original question of where are the Obama jokes, the short answer is this: Because of the U.S.'s still-murky issues with race, for many people, President Obama's defining characteristic remains the color of his skin. Where Clinton was the philanderer and Bush was the dolt, Obama is the black guy. Anyone can make jokes about a guy who can't keep his pants on. Anyone can make 'Ha! You're stupid!' jokes. Not just anyone can make jokes about race.
