The 2012 and beyond Political Thread - Part 2
-
I'm steeping into this... I may regret lol I often say that conversatives ("traditionalists" really, are simply wrong). But wait a minute, you and me, and most here live a democracy. That means one man one vote, each opinion counts the same and all the same. The point of a democracy is not what is right or what is wrong but simply what gets more votes. Proving the others are wrong doesn't matter much for an election. They could say in the end: "yes, we admit we are wrong... but we're majority"

I was puzzled by that previous post. That's why I didn't respond, despite the numerous question-marks. I'll add: Why does it bear repeating when we libs are pretty much focusing on the issues?
aww come on now...you're a smart guy & you couldn't figure that one out?
Jenny says:Isn't that where the name calling is warranted? You think calling someone who has a different point of view ignorant or brainwashed is ok? Sad if you do......people immediately lose interest.

Instead of posting another obvious, passive-aggressive admonishment, why not just contribute something that is germane to the thread? I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but it seems like you two are deliberately provoking personal tension -- and that is not my intent. Or is it simply your job to monitor others who elect to use this thread, rather than enlighten us with something of a political nature? You're being a bit abusive.

In the U.S., Republican governors are attempting to surpress votes via voter-purges and unnecessary Voter I.D. laws.

That's questionable ... you just don't acknowledge the issues that others bring up (when and if they are not to your liking) Why focus at all if you've "already won"?? Truth is you and a lot of people are worried ... if not ... why post here at all ... the truth is Obama & all his razzel dazzel just might not pull it off!!!
Because it's hard to resist when you've got someone like yourself who contributes hardly anything but links to biased, conservative Web sites. It seems like most of the conservatives on here can't think for themselves, so they simply regurgitate your generic Fox News/Hannity/Limbaugh/etc. angry, screeching talking points. But they at least take the time to reword it and make it seem like a coherent thought, whereas you simply post the stuff without comment. You don't ever engage in debates, you just shrug off valid counterpoints with generic 'you're entitled to your opinion, I'm entitled to mine' type statements. Which is fine, but that you now claim that the liberal contingent doesn't acknowledge your issues when you've habitually rerouted discussions on this board with your out-of-left field contributory stories, or rather the links to them, is incredibly annoying. Though not as annoying as the recent influx of posters purporting to be impartial observers, annoyed with audi's supposed reliance on name-calling over fact. Gee, apparently these folks have figured out a way to filter out rich's posts, or perhaps they've conveniently "overlooked" them.
Wow ... Angry ?? I'll let others who don't regularly post be the judges of those who are really angry ... can you just for a moment acknowledge that there are many others who don't share the same political views in general as you?? This thread is not owned by any of us ... And that very presumption and/or attitude (willful or not) is what has driven many others from the Macca community not to post (here). Happy Independence Day

Back to some issues. mittens wants to protect offshore tax-havens...why do you ask : : : : because that's where he has a lot of his money and he won't reveal his finances http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/2012/08/investigating-mitt-romney-offshore-accounts The Cayman Islands where Bain (company mittens founded and still gets income from) keeps a lot of its money So mittens wants to keep the loopholes that keep the money that he made from bankrupting or offshoring American companies intact so that he can continue to make more money from out scourcing and bankrupting American companies. Obama is against keeping the loopholes

Obama's gonna pulverize Romney in the debates -- where Romney's strategy of evasiveness won't work. How can he possibly defend this?

I don't speak for audi, but your insistence on "admonishing" him in the face of the board's liberals attempts to re-route the conversation towards actual issues feels eerily similar to the board's conservatives ignoring facts and changing the narrative rather than actually confronting an issue head-on. Coupling that with the fact that you shared with everyone a PM from audi in attempts to make him look foolish, it becomes less likely that you are the political-discussion outsider who simply wasn't aware of the screechy, hateful, and, yes, often personally insulting conservative rhetoric on this board, and more likely that you simply side with the conservatives, but persist on portraying yourself as the impartial observer. Thus the questioning of your veracity.

All this of proving something is "right or wrong" to the traditionalist leads to nothing. For a traditionalist, what's right is what is tradition and if it's not tradition then it's not right. That happens in the USA, in Spain and anywhere in the world. It doesn't matter "why" that is done, the reason... the only reason is tradition, same old, same old. For instance. Gay marriage. Why not? It's not tradition. Women's voting, it's not tradition. And so forever back in history. You can't prove wrong anything to a traditionalist cause for him it is wrong or not because it is or it's not a tradition (like bullfighting on Spain...). Am I wrong? Some conservative/traditionalist will agree. You don't like many things because they are different, it's not same old, old school. It is change, the unknown but you prefer to stick to same old. Just like "A bride should wear in white", because you believe it should be that way and no other. You don't know why she shouldn't wear in any other colour except for it is not "same old".

It just couldn't be anything good if they used such a description for it. Well, you know how this story goes, if the goal is "Same old", or should I say, going back in time. Stage 1 Only whites can vote Stage 2 Only male whites can vote Stage 3 Nobody can vote

Jobs Report for June: The numbers are out (well, to be released officiallly tomorrow) Over 126,000 jobs added for June, 2012. That makes the 27th consecutive month of private-sector job-growth under this President. If Obama is a Socialist, he really stinks at it.
