Back in my day we had to...
-
I was a kid and rode in cars with no seat Belts!!!!
-
Back in the day dyslexia wasn't spreading like the plague.
-
Back in the day, it was so much easier to "do it yourself" when it came to working on cars.
-
Back in the day people didn't know cigarettes caused cancer. There were ashtrays full of butts everywhere! People smoked at their desks and there was often a haze of smoke in the office.
Don't miss those days!

In China, smoking is a national pastime. One of the reasons public trash cans are so rare, I have heard, is because they would be full of ash and cigarettes.
If you don't smoke, you're not cool.

Wow, how did that happen? Are there no warnings on cigarette packs? Or is it a type of population control, of sorts?

There are warning labels, but just like any other country, people don't want to give up their suicidal addictions. Smoking is big business. Those giant corporations don't want to give up their profits any more than the oil companies. It probably doesn't help that the Chinese government owns the largest cigarette company.

Back in my day we had to wait for the TV to warm up.
-
We listened to the news on the radio or waited until the evening news

Back in my day i had a hand held transistor radio that i would hide under the sheets when i went to bed. I'd listen to WKBW in Buffalo NY (100 miles away!!!) And sometimes if the cloud cover was just right i could pick up WBZ in Boston Mass.both AM stations.

I lived on the west side of Cleveland, OH and listened to CKLW-AM from Detroit, MI! (“The Motor City” was their catchphrase)

Back in my day (a different part of my day) wavy gravy was real! (I think)

I still have to do that. Every time I turn on the TV, it says it's updating its software.

We got our news from large sheets of paper folded over, with ink that always got on our fingers and grocery coupons we could cut out. They even had a crossword puzzle and comics. Clicking a link meant turning to another page, and all of the popup ads always displayed on the same page.

Back in the day ....
we got kicked out (figuratively) and told to stay out ..... and play of course ....
no question as to where you were or what you were doing ....
just be out and try to be home for dinner ....
even if it was cold (today it is 10 degrees F.) we would just bundle up a little bit more
and out we would go ...
and we would stay out for a long time.

Jimmy Kimmel apparently has a segment called The Generation Gap. I just saw part of the latest one
Here's another

I had to google the song that they had in one of those questions. I'd much rather hear the second song by John Melloncamp!
This Is America - Childish Gambino Lyrics
Ain't That America
