awwwwwwwww...(Nancy R's cat pictures) The new book about cats titled "The Lion in the Living Room" sounds charming. Cats don't help out like "rescue dogs" but they're still a bit of all right, aren't they
Cats do "help out." They can lower your blood pressure by petting them. They can sense when someone is sick and/or dying and go to them and comfort them. I've seen this with my own cats when my mom has been ill. I know some people are just not cat people and prefer dogs. I'm the opposite. It's hard for me to fathom someone not liking a sweet kitten or cat.
I'm with you on this, Nancy. One night my husband was downstairs having a seizure in the living room and our Maine coon can ran up into the bedroom where I was and just ran around in circles until I went downstairs to help my husband. Your cats are beautiful, btw.

My cat was sharpening her claws on cardboard boxes - ruining them. I bought her a two foot high stand, with heavy twine wound & glued around. Within 3 weeks she has brought down at least 1/3 of the twine from the top. Not bad since she is almost 16 in human years! She's adopted & brought up with the freedom to go out. She just hasn't done much lately since it's been too cold for her. That means, lots of lap-time ... I think I'll make her a stand myself with some 2 by 4's Cute pics Nancy _ DeeGee is a long hair cat too!

Sometimes I tell my cat, "Stop being such a p***y". She never pays attention, just purrs hearing my voice.

1. Cats outnumber dogs as pets in America. - I forgot that fact. I'm going to tell my cat that she's one in over 94 Million - I don't expect an answer!

My cat D.G. or Dee Gee is nearly 16 years, 8 months! aka "Dear Girl". I didn't name her, adopted from my younger brother after his unexpected passing a little over a year ago.
A number of neighbors really like her, she's friendly _ & really good at making friends!

Sad week here in our household. We had to say goodbye to one of the older cats of the house. Connor was 18, so he had a good long life, but was still hard.

So sorry to hear this! I love cats and have 3: ages 11, 7 and 2.
