We named the male outdoor cat Xander and he lets my mom and son pick him up now. We open the door, but he never wants to come in. My son may adopt him when he gets settled in his new house. Willow is getting declawed in a couple weeks. She ripped to shreds an old laundry hamper I had!

Declawing a cat is acceptable now? That used to be a huge issue.

Not for me! All my cats have been declawed since 1974! They use a laser now.

Our kid's cat doesn't always take to peeps but when our kid's friends were over, his cat came out & started rubbing Liam's leg & purring!

I've adopted one of my brother's cats, an adult female approx. 50% Maine Coone. Her name is D.G. (dear girl). I'm trying to get her brother - he's been outside, mostly likely being cared for by a neighbor - maybe adopted?? D.G. is very happily becoming a "house cat", she's not interested in going outside (at least not yet). She loves being the only cat, the Queen of the house

Had a black and white cat with a collar on come up to me out of the blue last night out front purring looking for some love and attention. Don't know who she belongs to. She did the same once before a few weeks ago.

Our gray male outdoor cat is finally letting me pick him up and pet him. Need to get him to Planned Pethood to be fixed and rabies shot. He's 5 months old now.

Cuddling kittens can kill you, warn scientists http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/09/19/cuddling-kittens-can-kill-you-warn-scientists/ I don't kiss kittens or cats

Our kid's cat is a funny little guy. He sometimes hides when peeps come over & he rarely comes out when out 3 year old twin granddaughters are here. Today, he not only came out when the girls were here but he also climbed right up on my shoulder & allowed them to pet him!

Took Xander in to Planned Pethood and they called to say they couldn't do the neutering because he has an upper respiratory infection! Took him to our regular vet and they said he is fine!! So pissed off since I spent $58 for nothing! They claimed he had a runny nose. Our vet saw no problems at all. Grrrrr......now have to haul him back there next Monday. He's in the basement and has been using the litter box (first time indoors for any length of time) They said to keep him separated from the other cats for a few days.

Hi Nancy! I'd be pissed too if I had to spend $58.00 for nothing. I'd make Planned Pethood pay you back the $58.00. I'm even more surprised that Xander didn't scratch the Vet that charged $58.00!

Already called PP to complain. They stand by their diagnosis they made Monday. No way would they pay me back the $58, are you kidding?

No I'm not Nancy! Go to the media such as your TV station and complain what Planned Pethood said such as misdiagnosing your cat and charging you $58.00. Also tell the media that your Vet is saying there's nothing wrong with your cat and Planned Pethood charged you $58.00 for nothing. You have a case Nancy!

PP didn't charge me the $58, my regular vet did. The cat apparently did have a runny nose when they first saw him (I don't know as I wasn't there - my mom took him in) Next Monday we will make sure he is cleared for surgery by them before we leave, so we don't have to make another trip back. If the regular vet wasn't so expensive, I'd have him neutered there. PP is only $45 for male cats and that includes a rabies shot!! (Female cats are $60) I have 4 cats which is why I try to keep the costs down.

The case is closed, I do hope that your cat feels better. How's willow doing? Is she getting used to her declawing?

Xander has been fine - no drainage from his nose or eyes, and his breathing sounds fine (listened with my stethoscope!) Willow is great too, thanks for asking.
