what do you think of Dogs

There is a series starting up again on animal planet...Pitbulls & Parolees. Whoda thunk? It works though. I enjoyed the last series too...Pit Boss. That one was little people rescuing pitties. There is a place in AZ that has acres & acres too for a no kill shelter. The name escapes me now. But it is in southern Az. xxlovemcc...my dog never "knew" people when she was young. She doesn't know how to play. She was prolly on a leash or in a cage her entire life. All she likes is toys that can be stuffed with peanut butter or treats! And we have quite a few of those. I just got her a puzzle! You hide treats in diff compartments & see if they can figure out where the treat is. We haven't done it yet but I assume she'll be great since she is a scent hound & has a very good nose.

Well, it's a small world cause the place in Arizona you mentioned, I'm very familiar with....it's called 'BEST FRIENDS"...I sponsored a ferrel dog named "Misha" from there several years ago. That new series name "Pitbulls and Parolees" made me chuckle...I dunno ,sounds awfully dangerous to me. Also, those toys you mentioned are the best...the animals love the challenge...I have one for a dog I babysit for...it's a ball that she rolls and when it turns at a certain angle it releases a treat ...she's crazy about it!

Yes, that's the one. I love that part of the country (SW) & last time we vacationed there we took our hound with us & she had a great time but there aren't as many forrests as we have here. Not too many in AZ or southern Utah. I wish I could have had the time to visit the sanctuary but I probably would have ended up with more dogs! haha

does anyone's dog have a particular toy that they just can't live without? that one toy that they will only play with and no other? Charmy was so funny. We have this stuffed animal that looks like a yorkie, and once she saw it she just wanted to tear it in pieces! She would grab and just shake her head side to side and try to tear it open. It was her way of letting her anger out, I think. Haha. She's a very very gentle dog, but loved to tear things apart!
My little Yorkie is like that. For Halloween, I got her this little black & purple bat & she ripped the bottom open & had the stuffing all over. We got rid of the stuffing & now she has the shell of the bat & she loves to grab it, shake it & growl at it! She also steals our cats toys & we have to keep getting them & putting them out of her reach!

How sweet Claudia! I love puppies! Aren't they cute? Today is my Lucy's GOTCHA DAY! We don't know her real birthday so we celebrate the day we got her...thus gotcha day! Today we have had this sweetheart for 3 years. She was previously an abused hunting dog & for the last 3 years I hope she's had the best time of her life here! We took her for a longwalk/run at a new park today.

You have a beautiful dog there!! And so good to see she still has her tail!!! I hate it when owners have tails removed, animals declawed, etc. That's animal cruelty.

You can not always blame the owners. Our first dog's (who is dead now but was very alive between 1998 and 2009) tail was removed , BUT we did not remove the tail. Her tail was already removed when we bought her, and we did not know it in first instance. We were thinking she was born without tail, until we found out it was removed in quite a cruel way. BUT our second dog has a tail.
