what do you think of Dogs
-
Yep, I have always done one cup in the morning & one in the evening. I had a dog get the bloat once (a long time ago) & that was from eating too fast & then playing. I think I may try one of those bowls. Saw a few on ebay. I agree with you about what they came from...with others maybe trying to steal their food. Thank goodness he's good at taking treats!

My 16 year old dog crossed the Rainbow Bridge today. She will be missed.

Thanks for your kind words Kittay, they are much appreciated. She had a good long life, but she will still be greatly missed.

Oh Paulfan11, I'm also so sorry to hear about your dear dog crossing the Rainbow Bridge.
I know it's a very sad time for you now. It's so hard to find what to say at such a sad time. May your memories of your good times together give you some bit of comfort at this time. Sixteen years is a long time and lots of memories. So sorry

Awww...paulfan...I am so sorry. Having just gone through this I know how much it can hurt (and we all know the pain). She'll be waiting for you at the Bridge. 16 is a great ol age to live to. She must have been very well cared for.
-
Thank you everybody for your words! I know she's running happy and carefree over the bridge now.
-
^^ Yes she is running and has no more problems.
I saw a girl this afternoon and she had two miniature collie dogs. She said her only dog she had in her life before died 3 days before Her birthday. Then we talked about Rainbow Bridge. We found comfort in talking about the concept. She was a girl I never met before. It is so surreal and empty when our doggies and other animals pass on. Time does help a bit. You never forget them, or forget loving them forever. Hang in there paulfan11. We are here.

So we fenced in our yard & the new dog is just loving it. Now I can throw a frisbee or a toy without worry. AND he is getting some exercise! He was running so hard yesterday I thought I saw him limp a little bit. I thought oh no... first day with a fence & he's gonna get a broken foot. But he is fine...maybe it was just twisted a bit. whew!

Be careful everyone... if you go to dog parks or even pet stores. The dog flu is spreading. http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/daily-southtown/news/ct-sta-dog-flu-st-0430-20150429-story.html

Please accept my condolences, as well. I know that pain. Love the poem, "Rainbow Bridge." An angel must have written it. Be well, dear paulfan11.

I took ours in yesterday to a different groomer. They said the dog flu is only in NW part of the state, close to your neck of the woods. Sure hope it doesn't spread down here. Yikes! Good thing your boy doesn't have to get groomed.

Speaking of poetry, I just got Paul's Blackbird Singing today along with two books I have poems in. Yeh! Much to read.

Yeah, I don't even want to take him to Petsmart...even the vet! I hope it all goes away soon.

Hope everyone's pet is safe. Did you ever notice that if you rub your dogs forehead above his eyes, in a round massaging motion, that he seems to become hypnotized?

I'll have to give that a try.
