Our oldest dog was vewry naughty today. As I was bringing her back into the house from the yard & opened the gate, she spotted our neighbor going up the side of his ard, between our fence & his. She doesn't usually leave our yard but this time ran after him snapping & growling. When I scolded her & told her to come back, that she knew better, the old coot just laughed & said that she was just greeting him. I reminded said neighbor that our oldest dog is an alpha female & she'd just as soon take a chunk out of him & the twit still didn't take me seriously. He said "She's just being like a kid." I've got news for him, kids don't llook to sink their teeth into your leg.

that is so precious, Claudia!!! i am a rescuer - i think i've always rescued animals, but this economy made things especially challenging. in the mtns, animals are "dumped" by people who think they'll have such a better life up here...memo to people: the coyotes get 'em every time, (unless those of us who rescue happen along at the right moment). (i have been known to follow the gathering sounds of coyotes at 2:00 a.m. in order to throw rocks and disperse them, because i know what they're about to do - and, believe me, nobody wants to hear it). i have four dogs, three cats and a cockatiel, all rescued. i wish i had a lot more property to allow them to run free; we're doing the best we can. yes, they mess up my house, especially in winter when we're all stuck inside!!! they are: SweetPea, Sophie, Casey Jr. Train, and Cisco Kid (dogs), Esmeralda, Tortelline, and Charisma (cats), and Precious, the cockatiel.

Patti.... you're a woman after my own heart. I am in awe of animal rescuers such as yourself....I would do the same, really, but I just couldn't bare to witness, first hand, the condition that some of these abused animals are in. Thank you for doing what you do ...glad to know you are out there for the defenseless animals, and I admire you greatly for it!!

How do Patti! .. That was SWEET! and no, I hadn't seen it! I get the biggest charge out of that for some reason...boggles me mind. Hey, I just read somewhere else that you were dipping strawberries in white chocolate...fantastic idea!! I've become a white chocolate lover over milk chocolate lately, even though I do try and eat the dark for the for the antioxidant factor, and I do like the taste as well.

Our youngest grand niece informed me today that she wants to one day become a vet tech & work with homeless animals. She wants to get them in good health & do everything she can to help them find good homes. 13 years old & a wonderful young lady Dogs are the most loyal, loving companions

Our oldest dog enjoys swimming in our pool every now & then during the summer! When she gets tired, she heads to the steps & looks for someone to put her on the grass.

I'm really more of a cat person. I like all animals. Dogs can be a bit smelly sometimes though. My mum has a hungarian puli and she's quite loveable. But she is naughty and jumps up alot. xXx

It takes around 30 "dumb animals" to make a coat, but only 1 to wear it.

We just gave our bluetick coonhound a bath out on the patio today. Even washed her beds! Boy, does she smell great now! We'll be fighting for who gets to hold her tonight!

2 of our female cats think my wee Yorkie is their baby & both of them take turns grooming my wee Yorkie! My husband is thinking of getting another Yorkie as a playmate for our little lass. This one will be a boy Yorkie.

So sad about the first. Hope the 2nd is found safe & sound very soon. We always adopt our pets. And sometimes they adopt us! Can't imagine life without dogs.

i am so, so sorry - it is so hard when your animal friend dies, but then to lose another - animals do grieve, you know; maybe that's why your other dog is missing???

Our little Yorkie sometimes throws temper tantrums when she doesn't get her way. It's funny how she wiggles & growls! It doesn't work tho'!
