what do you think of Dogs

How could you not talk to your pet?

Took our Yorkies to have their pix taken with the Easter Bunny at PetSmart yesterday. Everyone made a big fuss over them 'cos they were dressed up in their Easter Bunny costumes. They even got little plastic eggs with doggie treats.

In the wee hours of the morning, our Aussie managed to escape from our kid's room (we have a gate in the door to prevent him from chasing our cats all over the house & keeping everyone up. He loves to play with our cats.), sneak into our bed & kept me up for ages, 'cos he's a bed & pillow hog.

It's amazing how in tune animals are. Mine goes nuts when he hears the sound of lawn mowers & grass trimmers. He must have memories of running out there after the lawn was cut & playing.

Dogs are so sensitive, they have a pet sitter place near me where you can drop your dog off... I've noticed when all the dogs are together playing there, they love to all bark at once It's so cute.

I'm trying to let mine go to doggie day care once a week. He has fun (I hope) & I can get some things done.

(Let's see how well I can compress this): After my previous dog died (not the one that I have now - he is still fine) - I went a long time not wanting to get another dog. [many months later] someone came over with their dog - the dog seemed to give the house "more life again" as a dog can do.... I took care of this dog once in awhile when the person had to work out of town. Then the person moved into an apartment for the short term and the apartment place would not take dogs. I took the dog temporarily - I walked the dog and fed it and gave him some attention. The person moved to a house and took the dog. Then when I "rescued" my next dog - the person brought their dog over again to help my dog through everything new and issues of who knows what happened in his early days and he already had 3 to 4 owners when he was still growing out of being a puppy - enough of a puppy when I got him to see him grow. The person went out of town and on vacations - I watched the dog. I took the dogs on separate walks - then started walking them together - they started getting better and better on the walks. [Later again] The person moved out of state - to try a job there (again an apartment - no dogs ). The person took the job and found a place that takes dogs. The person came back to visit a few times - once with the dog and times without the dog. The increment without the dog became longer. I recently visited the person and the dog greeted me with a stuck smile (one of those things that used to make me smile was seeing the stuck smile) I think the dog knew who I was and greeted me as the dog would greet someone that he knew and not as just a guest who visited. (if that makes any sense). It was so good to visit the person and the bonus of seeing the dog. *That was a lot of words and it was the compressed version. Names and personal stuff was left out - called dog and person. I called them by their names when I saw them. I even took the dog for some walks when I was there - not just for the dog - for me as well Do I hit the submit key or delete this ha ha ha.

Glad you posted all that Fool. Dogs do give you something special. It feels good. Mine is starting to know that I am what's left now. He comes & rubs up against me...at times knocking me over almost. He's big! When I sit on the floor he'll come & turn upside down in my lap. He is the only thing that I smile at every day. And usually yell at too. haha. And right now he is whimpering at my side. We need to go in the yard & run a bit. He's spoiled.

Our female Yorkie has been taking our Aussie's toys out of his basket & playing with them. I have to keep our Yorkies toys in a bone shaped toy box with the lid closed when our Yorkies aren't playing with their toys or else our Aussie will destroy them. He's very hard on toys.
