I saw that on the news last night and cried. SO HAPPY they were rescued! Many animals are like that in Japan though.

Very concerned about our older dog. She turns 10 next month & has been having trouble with her back legs. Hoping its not Cushings so far, the only symptom she has is limping on her right rear leg & starting to limp slightly on the other one.

PS you have to replay it to see it in full...That one almost made me cry...so sweet!!! And that golden retriever older dog with the red bandana looks kinda like my old dog that we lost. Tomorrow it will be 4 years ago. Funny how they get into your hearts! How did he get that dog to smile like that for sooo long? So CUTE! Thank you for that.

It *does* get easier when you get a new one... Although today I've been calling Lucy by the previous dog's name...Sadie. (lucy in the sky & sexy sadie ) Lucy ate something while on our jog at the park. I stuck my fingers down her throat while I was screaming at her! Must have looked the fool! Here's some lady with her hand down a coonhounds mouth & she's screaming! LOL! And to no avail...it was gone. Hope it wasn't a whole mouse...she's done that before. I wonder if it's because she was a stray at one time & had to search for food? oh well...it hasn't come up on her...yet.

OMG...swallowed a WHOLE mouse??? YIKES!....I remember you posted a cute picture, and she is a rather large dog so that why she was proably able to take care of it. I had a springer spaniel once that would try to eat rocks all the time...really strange craving, but not unheard of I came to find out. Anyway, hope she's doing fine and we'll probably chat again over another posting before long...crazy animal lovers that we are

I am laughing inside at the funny parts only ..... I have tried to take my pup for some walks ..... and within a nano second he has something in his mouth.... I take it out .... we walk a few more steps and he has something else in his mouth ... I remove it .... then again ... and I try to say NO! (of course it doesn't mean anything to him) ... a few more steps and he has a rock in his mouth (and this is not the first time I have seen him do that ) ..... He is mostly Springer Spaniel (if not all .... but at the rescue they were told he may have some Border Collie in him ... which was my last dog ... they have to write that down and sell him that way ... even if they believe he may be 100% springer ....) He is still a firecracker ..... one minute he is great and the next he is getting into something ..... it is taking a lot of time and work ..... on the cool as all heck part of him ..... I am glad I made the decision to get him ..... on the tough parts and him getting into and doing something wrong .... I am still glad I got him ..... I just have to think about it for a few seconds

So glad to hear that you are enjoying him. Ahhh yes, pups tend to pick up all kinds of stuff! Especially a bird dog! Mouthy dogs! They love to carry stuff around in their mouths! He'll grow out of it soon. Springer...that's a good sized dog. How much does he weigh? Post a picture soon!

A couple of our cats have taken to stealing my Yorkie's toys. My DH just caught one of our male cats "red pawed" with a squeaky ear of corn in his mouth!

That was hysterically funny.... You are right about bird dogs... I had a black lab named Rex, but he never stopped eating sticks and rocks and my plants... we used to call the plants his garden, cause he liked to graze a bit... I had to check that there was nothing poisonous around the house. The time he ate the cactus tho, that was really scarey....poor dog.... he had a rough time of it... but we always laugh and laugh now that its over with... unbelievable!!
-
^ oh no! He ate the cactus? OUCH! Both ends! Whatever Lucy ate the other day...she must have totally digested it. Have not seen hide nor hair of it. Speaking of hair...on our daily jogs at the park...we often come upon what looks to be poop but is all hair. YUCKY!!! I bet it may be the coyotes that run around & that may be the remnants of field mice?
-
Our older dog went after our twit neighbor again! She hates him & this time the bloody fool stuck out his hand in front of her face & told her she could sniff his hand. I warned him that she is not a people dog & finally got her to come back to me before she could rip his hand to shreds. I scolded her & told her she has to knock it off before she not only gets herself into trouble but us as well.

You have no idea.... We couldn't pet him for a couple of day... and it had LOTS of stickers on it... The vet said we had to just wait it out I could never understand why he ate rocks though... it's amazing he lived so long my big baby... I miss him so much!!! He was irreplaceable...
