what do you think of Dogs

I find it funny how dogs tend to hate vacuum cleaners....my one dog runs into the other room every time I pull the vacuum out of the closet and my other dog barks and attacks it while I am vacumming......dogs are a strange bread

Cats don't exactly love vacuum cleaners either. My theory, the noise hurts their ears ... but maybe it's something else??

You could run into my dog with the vacuum. Only thing that bothers her is thunder & fireworks...mostly little bottle rockets. And she was a hunting dog so she should be used to gunshot...or maybe *that's" why.
-
*Vacuum cleaners are annoying to me if I am not the one running it .... My dog tries to attack it .... runs at it ... barks at it .... he does so with a broom and a snow shovel .... I am glad the fireworks are winding down .... They still go off .... just not as many .... my dog was okay .... until they started going off in larger numbers and louder ones too .... I was thinking my dog would be good in the dog olympics .... eating contest ... I can put food in his bowl and it is gone before I hit the next room .... he inhales it **probably part of being a rescue dog .... survival of the fittest .... He had a good walk today ... a brushing and a swim in his kiddie pool

If his eating is really too fast you can get a dog bowl that has bumps in it. That way they must navigate around the "bumps or pegs" sticking up. My dog eats anything she finds...I figured too because she was a stray. But once it was an entire dead mouse laying on the track at the park. ewwwwwwww She just swallowed it before I could get it out.

I want to laugh ..... and at the same time ... my dog is that quick with things too ..... and he tries to eat everything ... sticks, stones, acorns, grass, weeds, etc and etc ... * the bowl might be an option .... he'd probably eat the pegs There are some types that also release only a smaller amount at a time ...... then again I may or may not get one ..... it is no hurry if I do

He might grow out of it & slow down with his eating. Those time release things always scare me cos I think she'd attack it & eat it all anyway. Lucy will find anything considered to be food. Sticks & stuff like that..not interested...except for the grass. But she'll lay down & suddenly she's inching forward & finds some piece of food or a wrapper at the park. Today it was gum on the pavement...I went to kick it to move it & then I thought better & realized that the gum would be all over me. : She has tried a live baby bird...moma robin swooped down & I got it out of her mouth, a live frog (almost), a dead bird...she got part of that...cicadas. She is really weird. She's a scent hound so her nose ia ALWAYS to the ground & once in awhile she gets lucky!
-
Does anyone else's dog put food on their arm? Whenever she gets something tasty...she'll lick her forarm over & over. I think she's saving the flavor or smell for later when she is sleeping. Ya know...rather than smelling those frito feet.
-
I grew up around a black lab german shepard female mix. She was peaceful...yet strong willed and protective! My mom was sitting in a courthouse yard on a bench talking to an old gentleman once when I was 4 or 5 years old. He lifted up his cane to brush a bee away that had landed on mom's shoulder..........and she jumped up and grabbed the cane out of his hand.

Is this for real?
-
dunno...where did you find it? The head does look pasted on though.
-
Oh my gosh the sun is going down and the eyes in my head see the world spinning 'round .... it was in the 90's today with a lot of humidity .... time to walk the dog on the hills .... I get this song in my head about being on the hills I gotta get out there before it becomes a walk in the dark By the time I return .... there might be a few posts on the board .... if that ... just stopping in to look around ... see all the posters after the walk
-
It clouded up .... there was a breeze ... it cooled down and looked like it might rain soon. Ah what a good time to go for a walk .... we get about a block away and the clouds broke up ..... the sun came out and it became hotter and more humid in minutes .... my dog slowed down a bit .... his tongue was hanging low .... and I felt like the callous dog owner who didn't have an ounce of compassion to not let his dog go for a walk in this kind of weather that could drive him into the ground .... I tried to slow it down ..... gave him a rest in the shade and gave him a few ice cubes at home. (I would have waited to later to have walked him if I knew .....) .

My little guy is sooo funny. He thinks he can catch the bunnies in our yard. All you've gotta do is say: "Bunny! Bunny, Bunny, Bunny!" & he starts looking for them! My sweet girl barks up a storm at the squirrels & they take off even tho' she's a good 20 feet away!
-
Just discovered that my dog likes to eat dead cicadas. Those BIG bugs. Though they are dead & just laying there, she just scoops it up & chews it. We seriously need a puking emoticon.
-
My dog caught a bird yesterday.....went to the back door and she is sitting there with something in her mouth.....it was a bird and it was alive Thank God my husband was there to take the bird out and it flew away....she didn't harm it.
-
Full size bird or baby? Mine got a baby robin once & the mother came swooping down & pulled the poor thing out just in time. It wasn't hurt.
