love that one.

On Sunday mornings, when I'm reading the papers, my Yorkie likes to curl up next to me in a corner of my recliner. I tell her it's time to get into the puppy nest!

I remember when our kid was little, Dh used to let our old dog out of her playpen & tell her to "Go Find Him" & she'd go dashing into our kid's room, jump on the bed & cover his face with kisses!
-
I now know and understand what dogs are for. Like all pets they become family

My Yorkie was very naughty last night. We have a gate in front of DH's workshop that allows our cats access to their food, water & litter boxes but it is also doggie proof. Naughty little dog kept going & rattling the bars of the gate, all bent out of shape 'cos she can't get in. I'd scold her & tell her to knock it off, she'd stop for a few seconds & then go back & start the racket all over again!

It's so hard to stay mad at them though!!! Do any of your dogs LOVE a particular food that they just go coocoo for? I had a Chihuaha that absolutely loved cheese! She would hear the wrapper and she automatically knew that there was cheese! We would only give her a little bit because I don't think it's very healthy.... My other dog loves vegetables!! Especially cherry tomatoes!

My Yorkie LOVES cheese! All you have to do is say the word cheese & she goes bonkers. She even looks for cheese when that silly commercial for cheezits (cheese nips?) comes on tv & she hears them say "CHEESE"! She also loves BilJac Apples'N'Nannas treats

On warm to hot days - I fill a small pool and my dog walks in it and moves around. Today I took him to a small river / stream and to see him swim. I tossed a small rock in to have him chase it -- and he got scared and went the other way. Then I got his confidence in the water ..... soon I tossed a stick and he swam to it and returned. We did some fetch for awhile. ( I sure would like to have had on a swim suit -- it was hot enough to want to go in the water) ..... I enjoyed watching him swim .... he is good at it .... I look forward to going again or taking him to a lake or similar Recently - I have tossed a "frisbee" in a field and my dog runs after it ..... looks like he is going to return it -- then he runs away from me and takes it far enough away to chew it ..... I get it back and throw it again .... and the same thing happens .... the frisbee is getting chewed up pretty quick like ...still it is fun to watch the new things happen with him

The trick to that is to teach him to 'bring it here'. We had a real good frisbee dog once. Some dogs really do go nuts for that type of play. Man...have you ever seen any of those border collies? Leaping abput & on & off their masters to jump higher to get the frisbee? Cool! That river sounds WAAY refreshing today! All mine does is stand at the edge of the lake. And drink. Once she saw a dog swimming towards her & of course only saw the dog's head. Lucy kept watching in interest & when the full dog started to emerge from the water, she got scared! :

Got my Yorkie a squeaky walrus toy. She loves it! Don't know how she managed but she broke the squeaker without damaging the toy!

My schnauzer, Rocco, has fleas, poor baby. I washed him and put Advantage on him, but it didn't work. Even washed him with Irish Spring bar soap which is supposed to kill fleas. Saw a lot of them in the water when rinsing. Dried him. Applied Advantage. He's still scratching, though not as often. I'm worried he'll need something else to kill them, but don't know what else to do.

I'm trying to teach Rocco to sit. He accidently does it once in a while, but I'm sure he doesn't yet know what I'm praising him for, lol.

Get some flea soap...maybe that will help. Not sure but the petshop prolly carries all kinds of it. Careful with that advantage. Too much will harm the dog. Make sure to do it according to the instructions for the weight of the dog. I know someone who's dog got liver problems & almost died from a wrong dosage.
