Just listened to a really interesting podcast about Ram with Matt Farley aka Motern Media a hugely prolific songwriter, about why Ram is his favorite album. He thinks it's brilliant and talks about how bizarre it is that Brian Wilson's Smile has always been viewed as genius while Ram, a similarly brilliant album that Farley considers a better album, had to deal with a critical drubbing on release. http://mrjeremydylan.com/post/122164160220/my-favorite-album-74-matt-farley-motern-media It's both about Ram and about Paul's early career and rep (vs. Lennon). Good listen. What's also nice is at the end this guy mentions Memory Almost Full and they play a snippet of Ever Present Past and he praises the song and says something like, "Paul woke up and said, 'Hey I think I'll write another perfect pop song today.'"

I always thought Ram would be a great stage play.

Agreed. It IS the best album of all time. It's always been mine.

Hi guys, I'm the host and producer of 'My Favorite Album'. Really stoked that such a great bunch of fellow McCartney-ites have stumbled across the Ram episode. Thanks for all the nice words. This was one of my favorite eps to record, and I'm glad it resonated with you guys. This was the first (and I'm sure not the last) PM solo record we've covered on the show, but of course Sir Paul has come up a bunch of times in episodes on Beatles records. If you'd like to check them out, we have (in order of album release) Neil Finn (Crowded House) on Beatles for Sale: http://mrjeremydylan.com/post/97219519490/my-favorite-album-021-neil-finn-pt-1-on James House on Rubber Soul: http://mrjeremydylan.com/post/100784605655/my-favorite-album-027-james-house-on-the Mark Wells on Revolver: http://mrjeremydylan.com/post/75849505559/my-favorite-album-003-mark-wells-on-the Tony Buchen on Sgt Pepper (disclaimer: we misattribute the string arrangement for She's Leaving Home in this ep) http://mrjeremydylan.com/post/103197579100/my-favorite-album-031-tony-buchen-on-the Davey Lane (You Am I) on the White Album side 1 http://mrjeremydylan.com/post/114606350870/my-favorite-album-50-davey-lane-you-am-i-on Mark Wells on the White Album side 2 http://mrjeremydylan.com/post/117050360340/my-favorite-album-57-mark-wells-on-the Pete Kilroy (Hey Geronimo) on the White Album side 3 http://mrjeremydylan.com/post/117134811660/my-favorite-album-58-pete-kilroy-hey-geronimo Michael Carpenter on the White Album side 4 http://mrjeremydylan.com/post/117560951165/my-favorite-album-59-michael-carpenter-on-the Abbey Road: http://mrjeremydylan.com/post/99589961255/my-favorite-album-025-jeremy-dylan-on-the Hope you guys get a chance to listen to some of the other eps. Thanks for posting these. This will give me plenty to occupy my time in the dog days of August. And thanks for the terrific Ram episode.

Wonderful! Keep the podcats ideas coming! I do a lot of driving and I always enjoy listening to some good podcats in between two Paul's albums
