My 9th grade shop teacher had a brand new burgundy one with black tuck n roll interior and flat black 5 spoke mag wheels. Used to walk by it every morning on the way to school. LOVED IT!!!
-
My first car was a 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu with an LS-6 454 with a 400 Turbo Hydramatic with a 4 bolt main and a 12 bolt posi rear end. Believe me when I tell you that this car hauled a*s!

Those 60's and 70's Chevelle's were GREAT cars! I once read that the 1970-71 Chevelle's were the 57 Chevy's of the 70's! The Chevelle's are still considered to be one of the great muscle cars in the circuit! The 67 and 68 Chevelle's are beautiful cars. I knew someone that owned a 1968 Light Baby Blue 4 Speed Chevelle with a high performance 283 Super Charger with side exhaust pipes. BOY, did that car sound sweet and HAULED A*S!

I forgot the SS!
It was a 1967 Chevy Malibu SS (Super Sport)
We need to start a Motor Car thread! I remember Paul saying to George after riding with him in George's car, "Nice Motor Car!"

Those 396 big block's were great motors! I take it that you knew that General Motors had a big block 400 and a small block 400! The small block 400 was not a success due to blowing heads because the heating ports where the water and coolant goes through to cool the head and engine was overheating thus blowing the engine blocks and heads or both! The big block 400 was a good motor. I miss the 427's, they were great big block motors for Chevrolet! The big block 454, especially the LS-7 454, was the ultimate motor! Was it Pontiac that had the 455 motor? The only difference between the LS-6 454 and the LS-7 454 was the LS-6 454, which I owned had a 11 compression ratio. The LS-7 454 had a 12 compression ratio! Either way, both 454's hauled some serious a*s!
Yes SurSteven, we need to start a Motor Car Thread! It was in high school, that I used to race cars for Tognottis and Hall Brothers at Sacramento Raceway in Sacramento, California! I miss those days!

What song did Sammy Hagar sing in Montrose about Motors?
What song did Sammy Hagar sing about not driving the speed limit?
The answer to the first one is "Bad Motor Scooter!"
The second one is "I can't Drive 55!"
