Nice thread idea rich! Couldn't let your mention of CONEY ISLAND get by w/o putting my 2cents worth in. Dad use to take us kids every Saturday ....we were beside ourselves! The BEACH, the BOARDWALK, STEEPLECHASE PARK, NATHAN'S HOT DOG STAND, the CYCLONE rollercoaster, and my very favorite, the magificent CAROUSEL RIDE! To this day when I see one in any form it moves me. Here's a clip I found and I think the music accompaniment is so appropro. Kind of a bittersweet melody that's so fitting for the memories I have associated with it. Enjoy! Oh, you'll notice the WONDERWHEEL Ride at the onset of the clip...I was stuck at the very top for approx. and hour ops: I thought I was going to die of fright...then the darn thing finally got going Here it is...
Wow...I was so tickled to inadvertently come upon this clip of THE CAROUSEL RIDE at CONEY ISLAND ( I spoke of in the above post) that I was so enamoured with as a child....it now has been relocated to Toshimaen Park in Tokyo I just knew it was a very special one ,worth preserving, to have evoked such a strong sentiment within me all these years. Shame this video doesn't nearly capture the essence of it's grandeur and sense of wonderment. Perhaps I will be able find a better look somewhere else.

The lyrics to Dylan's Rainy day women #12 & 35 are derived from the bible. Proverbs 27:15"A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike")

Did you know that the 'tusk' of a narwal is not actually a tusk at all? Do you know what it actually is and where the point of origin is typically located on the head (hint: not the forehead as the imaginary unicorn tusk located)?
