The four candidates involved in the GOP debate last night were against it - although Santorum seemed to hedge a bit.

Funny...this even showed up in animal rescue groups... http://btc4animals.com/weekly-cause/protest-sopa-pipa/ HOW THIS COULD EFFECT YOU "Consider that YouTube video you just shared of an adoptable animal. If that video ? made by somebody else ? infringes on copyright by using a song without permission, under these laws, not only can YouTube be sued for hosting it, you could be sued for reposting it."
: watch the little video they have posted! No...you won't get sued...haha

Save the Internet from the US Posted: 5 April 2012 Right now, the US Congress is sneaking in a new law that gives them big brother spy powers over the entire web -- and they're hoping the world won't notice. We helped stop their Net attack last time, let's do it again. Over 100 Members of Congress are backing a bill (CISPA) that would give private companies and the US government the right to spy on any of us at any time for as long as they want without a warrant. This is the third time the US Congress has tried to attack our Internet freedom. But we helped beat SOPA, and PIPA -- and now we can beat this new Big Brother law. Our global outcry has played a leading role in protecting the Internet from governments eager to monitor and control what we do online. Let's stand together once again -- and beat this law for good. Sign the petition then forward to everyone who uses the Internet! One can sign the petition here: http://www.avaaz.org/en/stop_cispa/?tta

I am sorry but I am not sure to understand what is going on exactly... When I read about what a scandal it was, I first thought it was about losing freedom on internet and basically losing access to any website that wouldn't be directly from the country we live in. But then I read as an example that megaupload got shut down... Megaupload got closed because it allowed people to share and download copyrighted videos illegally. I don't see why I should protest against that. But I might have misunderstood and probably the megaupload example I read was a bad one? So the next thing I'm thinking about is the fact that for example I can't watch videos from tv channels that are in my native country while I live in another. That sure is a pity but I know it also a legal/copyright reason that I would explain badly but that remains understandable. So if it is these sorts of things you are talking about, I don't think this will affect your access to a message board like this one. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to post your thoughts here while massive websites like facebook are being so popular and making lots of money... But if I didn't get it, please kindly explain to me what is really threatened. I've made a quick online search and what I read doesn't sound so threatening to me, it sounds more like they are trying to stop the piracy because it has become way out of control so it is the responsibility of every website to make sure piracy isn't allowed in any way.

Right now at a UN meeting in Dubai, authoritarian regimes are pushing for full governmental control of the Internet in a binding global treaty -- if they succeed, the internet could become less open, more costly and much slower. We have only 2 days to stop them. Sign the petition: To the ITU and all nations meeting at the World Conference on International Telecommunications (WCIT) in Dubai: As citizens of the world and Internet users, we call on you to reject any changes to current Internet regulations that would weaken or alter the free and open nature of the Internet, or give any government or body the ability to infringe on Internet users? rights to free speech, free access to information or privacy. We also demand that any proposed changes to current international Internet regulations be publicly debated, and subject to citizen input and approval. http://www.avaaz.org/en/hands_off_our_internet_i/?boZkbab&v=20018
