crossing walls or fences??
"Poles were used as a practical means of passing over natural obstacles in marshy places such as provinces of Friesland in the Netherlands, along the North Sea, and the great level of the Fens across Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire, Lincolnshire and Norfolk. Artificial draining of these marshes created a network of open drains or canals intersecting each other. To cross these without getting wet, while avoiding tedious roundabout journeys over bridges, a stack of jumping poles was kept at every house and used for vaulting over the canals. Venetian gondoliers have traditionally used punting poles for moving to the shore from their boat." My last visit to Cambridgeshire, my friend and I were driving around the great Fens marsh restoration area. I can just imagine people pole vaulting the wetter canal areas...

What's the early origins of pole dancing?

Yes oobu, life really does have its moments! You'll slowly get through it, life moves on! I lost my wife in 2001, I thought I couldn't live without her. Time does move on. You will meet new people.

Even tho' I never discussed politics with a friend, I need to break the news to her that she should really ask what our political affiliation is - she sent us Democrat t-shirts in our Christmas pkg!

Haha. Yeah, political gifts never a good idea unless, as you say, you discuss politics and you know their affiliation.
-
No matter how early you go to Walmart to return a gift, there is a long line and only one person working in Customer Service.

It reminds me of being in line at the Post Office!
