Oscar screw-up

Can't believe Faye Dunaway announced La La Land when it clearly said Moonlight for best picture! Then Warren Beatty takes the fall for her? He said that the card said "Emma Stone, La La Land" but the card FD "read" was the same one that got handed to the LLL people and the guy turned it around and showed the camera it said Moonlight! Jimmy Kimmel was funny though: "I blame Steve Harvey!"

They were actually given the wrong card. For some reason they have two cards for each category and they were given the duplicate for Best Actress. That's why Warren had that weird look on his face when he opened it and was hesitant to announce it since he saw Emma Stone's name. The correct card was brought out when the Oscar folks came running out when La La Land folks were giving their speech.

Unbelievable that he didn't say Hey I got the wrong card!

I think later, he said he was said he was waiting for someone to realize it. I did notice that as soon as FD started chiding him for delaying, he gave the card over, for her to read...

But Emma Stone had already received her Oscar which was given to her by Leo DiCaprio. The only award WB and FD were giving out was best picture. So how did the other card get in his hands?! Why the hell would they have duplicate cards for each category? An accident waiting to happen, which apparently did.

I "Am A Stone" Too!!! It was funny, and they all took it in stride. I can see a combined sequel entitled... 'Moonlight Over La La Land' Everyone would LOVE to see that!!!

One could say that La La Land took the popular vote at the box office over Moonlight, http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/oscar-box-office-la-la-land-leads-best-picture-nominees-3405m-globally-978116 but they agreed to the voting done by The Oscar Committee. They chose Moonlight. Even though their movie name was called for the "Best" award .... The cast was mature enough to accept the results ... and give the award to the winner.

Exactly! Imagine that.

I didn't see anyone at all take it seriously. And, of course we must remember that these are only movies. They are not the hard core realities that have to be dealt with when decision making people choose to favor special interests over everyone as a whole. Self oriented people and groups are easy to see through.

Glad they were all so civil about it.

Therefore, no one should criticize Trump? These electoral vote analogies are illogical.

Wouldn't be the first time. But I watched this Oscar snafu a few days later, after I knew what happened, and I could see the pain in Warren Beatty's eyes. He knew it was the wrong card, but he had no idea what to do.

Big time "Senior Moment!" I've started to have little ones and WB is 15 years older than I am!

What I don't understand is why they fired the female PWC employee as well! She didn't do anything wrong!
