Happy Easter/Passover

I know we all have different beliefs here.....but Easter is a special hoiday to me and others. Happy Easter to all who celebrate it. And to our Jewish friends...Happy Passover. Hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday.....eat lots of candy and drink merry. Give the family a hug.

Tonight I'm fixing for dinner what my Mom used to make on Easter eve. It isn't very good for you...thank goodness we only have it once a year. Polish sausage, hard boiled eggs & holska (like a raisen bread). And horseradish! Mom used to make soup from the water (from the sausage) for the next day but I won't be doing that. It is called Easter soup. duh. she sliced sausage & eggs into the soup. Kinda weird but it was good. Do you have any family traditions? Happy Easter everyone.

I visited the Easter Scenes Passion Play enacted just down the road at a country church, yesterday in daylight and then later again at night, when the darkness rendered it more dramatic. You ride through slowly in your car stopping at each scene acted out for you, before moving on to the next. The first scene showed the Last Supper where I recognized a neighbor as one of the disciples. Jesus's wig and beard were way too bushy with bad acting, but he was rather lively and spirited. Was motioned on to Pontius Pilate berating another Jesus. I was impressed with Pilate's costume, but not his acting, although he too was lively and loud, made an effort. He certainly looked the part (but sounded like a Southern Pontius Pilate! LOL). On the right was a charming market scene with Jerusalem villagers milling about. The scene turned ominous and frightening with Jesus kneeling down tied to a post being whipped bloody and Roman soldiers egging it on. Again, the Roman soldiers costumes looked realistic and impressive. A big curtain parted to reveal the three hanging on the cross, Jesus in the middle, dead. The victim to his right hanging there, a tall young boy, looked like he was going to start laughing and was smiling. He couldn't help it, though. Mary, Magdalene and other women mourners stood before them weeping. I rode on to the open tomb scene. Two young girls shrieked, "He is gone! He is risen! He is risen!" They sounded like they were going to get the giggles! They felt a bit embarrassed, weren't natural actresses born to the stage. This was my first time round though in daylight, and they were more convincing and natural next time. The next scene was Hell, for some reason. Did Jesus descend into hell for three days after rising, something like that? Or is it not known where he went then, before appearing to Thomas? The last scene was charming, two beautiful angels with wings pointing to a resplendent young, fat smiling Jesus seated on a throne on a lovely lit up small round stage decked with flowers. In heaven. He smiled and waved, and I waved back. Tiki torches lined the way on each side, with small flames at the tops. I was afraid my big car would knock one over and start a fire. The church people had faith this wouldn't ever happen, I'm sure. I was praying (LOL)

Happy Easter. This one is controversial but it was even aproved by the Catholic Church, not just that, they said there has not been a truer portrayal of Jesus since Leonardo Da Vinci. The whole movie is fantastic, Lloyd Webber at his best. Jesus Christ Superstar-Gethsemane

We have had a great Easter so far. My son had his first Easter egg hunt....had alot of fun. I also got a new puppy for Easter....I had no clue. She is the cutest thing. Now Ananking has a baby sister...
