I think you meant 'neo-nazis'...who are also down there being equally as destructive (although they must've behaved today because I haven't heard much)...but given your question, I take that to mean you favor one or the other of the extremes (since you put it in those terms)...which is vile, because both groups are equally as vile...but not surprising - thus I hardly blink an eye at your comments...LOL

Zimmerman's arrest is the first step towards justice. Hopefully his arrest will settle some of the unrest. It won't quiet it, but will be a step.
Black Panthers just warned that they are going down to Sanford to 'keep things straight' and ensure 'justice' is done their way - I hope the United States Army is waiting for them...LOL
The Black Panthers are a mere footnote to this matter. Stop polarizing the issue more than it already is.

Because it is a race issue - I said it 'shouldn't' be, not 'it isn't'...there's a difference...and because of it, Zimmerman has already been tried and procecuted in the court of public opinion...I personally hope if found guilty, they lock him up and throw away the key (I have no dog in the fight other than it disappoints me to see this injustice - I don't find the delayed arrest to be 'disappointing' so much because I admittedly don't understand that 'stand your ground' law enough to know whether one was actually warranted - although I think FL should seriously take another look at it)...But it sucks that right now there are two sides to the story and people are chosing to side with one over the other 'just because' (or are there other motives involved aside 'justice')...My lone plea with all this is just 'let the trial happen'...the poor mother of Trayvon certainly didn't want all this And to Audi - it's obviously only 'polarizing' to you when it comes from a conservative...so please respectfully, knock it off

Because in your initial comment you stated you were hoping the arrest would settle some of the unrest. I would generally agree with that...that is until I read the Black Panthers are travelling down to enforce their own 'justice'...it is of my opinion that the Black Panthers will undo some (maybe most???) of the 'good' the arrest had accomplished...thus my bringing it up. I'm not getting why you're down playing their role. If someone turns them away (or if Ed Holder suddenly has an epiphany and realizes he should thwart the race card from all angles of this case instead of just from Zimmerman's perspective), then your wish would probably be granted...but if allowed to carry out their threat, the Black Panthers will get in the way of that...it's my opinion and I'm sorry if you don't buy into that...it's not a black or white thing because I don't know anyone of any ethnic group (including African Americans) who agree with these slugs...it's more like getting thrown back into the 50's/60's except in reverse

Again, though, if you don't want the "race card" to play a factor, why announce that the Black Panthers are going to be gathering in Florida? If you wanted to downplay the role of race in this issue, you wouldn't be announcing the plans of the Black Panthers here, or anywhere else.

What is the...one drop...rule?
"The one-drop rule is a historical colloquial term in the United States for the social classification as black of individuals with any African ancestry; meaning any person with "one drop of black blood" was considered black. The principle was an example of hypodescent, the automatic assignment of children of a mixed union between different socioeconomic or ethnic groups to the group with the lower status.[1] The one-drop rule was not adopted as law until the 20th century: first in Tennessee in 1910 and in Virginia under the Racial Integrity Act of 1924 (following the passage of similar laws in numerous other states). Despite the strictures of slavery, in the antebellum years, free people of mixed race could have up to one-eighth or one-quarter African ancestry (depending on the state) and be considered legally white.[2] More were absorbed into the majority culture based simply on appearance, associations and carrying out community responsibilities. These and community acceptance were more important factors if a person's racial status were questioned, not his or her documented ancestry. The social mobility of antebellum society meant that many people did not have documentation about their ancestors. The four surviving "natural" children born to Thomas Jefferson's mixed-race slave Sally Hemings, whom Jefferson allegedly fathered, were seven-eighths European in ancestry and thus legally white although they were born into slavery.[citation needed] Three of the four entered white society as adults, two married white persons, and all their descendants identified as white. Many of later generations of his mixed-race descendants also entered white society, according to their appearance.[citation needed] In the United States, European Americans usually classified people of partial Native American descent as Native American, in a similar example of hypodescent. In the early years of these types of unions and marriages, the fathers were usually European and the mothers Native American. Many Native American tribes had matrilineal descent systems, so within those communities, the children were considered by tradition to belong to the mother's clan. It was tradition for the mother's eldest brother to play a major role in the life of all her children, more important than that of the father within the tribe, as the uncle looked out for the children within his clan, the father belonging to a different clan. Among such tribes, mixed-race children could be absorbed into the culture, as had been the case traditionally with captives of any race who were adopted. Among other tribes, such as the Omaha, which was patrilineal, the full-bloods considered a half-breed a "white man" if he had a white father, which was their application of hypodescent. Half-breeds could belong officially to the Omaha tribe only if they were adopted into it.[3] In the United States, the concept of the one-drop rule has been chiefly applied by European Americans to those of sub-Saharan black African ancestry in the aftermath of slavery, as they were trying to impose white supremacy."
