-
The film's out in the cinema today! I'm going to see it over the weekend, it looks great!
-
appletart2:
i see where the actor Barnabas died.
He (Jonathan Frid) does have a cameo in the new film though! So do a couple other of the actors from the original soap opera (David Selby is one I believe)
-
saw it yesterday and liked it
-
Saw it today--I missed the cameos--Jonathan Frid, David Selby (Quentin Collins) and Lara Parker (Angelique) were at the party as guests according to the credits. Really liked the movie!

Yeah, I caught that too!

Having grown up with the original Soap Opera (yeah, I'm one of those kids who would run home after school to catch it) I wasn't expecting much from the film. Saw it yesterday at the IMAX (not in 3d though). It wasn't totally like the original, but I didn't not like it. Alot of characters were in the movie, but NO Quentin! Wasn't it the caretaker, Willy Loomis, that was the werewolf in the original? I remember a guy being the werewolf, and having to be locked up every full moon (not the person who was in this movie)? Man, it was so long ago watching the original. It was in Black & White...warm up the tubes in the tv, adjust the rabbit ears! Podgie (I suddenly feel olde) Monkey

One thing that I notice was that the train cars in the movie, were definitley not the ones that would have been in the 1970s. Kind of looks like they just filmed the present B&M DownEaster. I guess it is something I would notice as the DownEaster goes by my house everyday on it's way to Boston's North Station. I know...C'mon, Podgie... Podgie (...it's only a movie!) Monkey

I think you may be right about Willie Loomis being the werewolf at some point! I too ran home from school to watch, but it was so long ago I've forgotten many of the storylines. I do remember when Barnabas was able to walk in the sunlight due to Dr. Julia Hoffman's "potions."

I forget a lot also, it has been so long. It may have been Willy Loomis who use to lock up the werewolf at full moons, I remember there was someone who always locked him up (although he did get out at times). : ))))) The show was cool with it's ghosts, vampires, and werewolfs, but I also remember it sometimes being very boring and seemly drawn out as a kid. I was in an area where the local Boston channel use to air the show, and we could also get the show again on the NH channel (which aired a half hour later or earlier, I forget), although the NH broadcast was very snowy on the tv. The good shows, we use to watch twice. Podgie (also remember watching Uncle Gus on the very snowy NH channel) Monkey

Somewhere in a box deep in the closet, I have the almost complete set of Dark Shadows bubblegum cards. Podgie (with alot of other bubblegum cards) Monkey

Saw Dark Shadows movie in May. If you blink, you'll miss the cameos by 4 original cast members, Jonathan Frid, Lara Parker, Kathyrn Leigh Scott & David Selby. Alice Cooper's mini concert was very fitting. The movie was good but nothing like the original. Funny too.
-
Oh, I missed those actors... I'll have to see it again. It was OK, I think it borrowed a bit from the the Mask,Witches of Eastwick and Frankenstein... lol the vampire bits were funny I didn't think it was too close to the original series.

Chiller was running a DS marathon on the telly for a bit. They were running original DS & new DS.
-
What's Chiller GG? I would love to see the old DS with Barnabas and Angilique!
