I know this thread is technically for famous people, but I have just lost a 2nd "Beatles" friend. First was Carol Camp on June 13th of leukemia and now Nanci Sauder Ruest on Aug. 13th of Covid + pulmonary embolism. She only got sick a week ago! (and she had been vaccinated with the J&J shot) So far all the people who had been around her prior to her getting sick have tested negative. I am supposed to meet up with 3 of her friends at Abbey Road On The River Sept 1-5. Have only met one of them irl (in real life)

Sorry to hear about the loss of your friends Nancy.
Because it is technically famous people, I did not mention losing a friend. We did not see each other in the recent time frame. We would call each other and send Birthday letters and stuff and Christmas etc. I did not hear from this friend and thought it might have been because of the lockdown. I called his house and it said the number was no longer in service. I got more into it (his parents passed and only his only family was his brother). I could not confirm. No obituary and I did not want to pay a fee to find out. I eventually found a Church newsletter online that mentioned his passing and his brother needing support with all of this. (It was not a COVID sickness, but COVID times made me think it was just a lockdown thing and we would get in touch).
I started there ... going back we knew each other in elementary school. Some years later I made cut out wooden guitars and we sang along with Beatle songs. Named our group and drew albums or photographed our albums with Beatle songs as if they were our songs. Soon we played real guitars - wrote songs and had a friendly competition to write better than the other. We met other people and formed a group. A basement or garage group who at the time had a dream to play somewhere and record. We did graduations and small things. We had good Beatle discussions - bought their albums and let each other know any Beatle happenings etc,,, there was and is more, but I wanted to keep it Beatle related. We met other friends with the same interests and had good discussions.
sorry for your loss Nancy and maybe for adding my stuff here, they may not be famous, but it hits hard. -
^ Sorry to hear about both of your losses of friends. I hope there are no more.

sorry for your loss Nancy and maybe for adding my stuff here, they may not be famous, but it hits hard.Thank you for your kind words and for your story. So sorry about your friend. I also had "Beatles" friends as a 3rd grader and we made guitars out of cardboard, got Beatle wigs, etc. and mimed to Beatles records in a show we put on for the entire 3rd graders in my elementary school. I was Paul! Later in 1964 I took guitar lessons, learned to read music and play notes. So boring so I quit and learned chords from a guy at church when I was 13 in 1968. We mostly played Beatles songs! Still have my 1967 Acoustic Gibson B-25.
